Color matched. However Chrome Pkg was part of XLT 302A. I didn't want to pay the price for something other than chrome.

As many have said.. Go with what appeals to you ultimately.. But I understand you are torn between the two...
I personally am for zero chrome, black with Black Appearance Package! I just like the look of a truck that looks like it was dipped in black paint! The dealer is scheduled to replace the tow mirror covers with painted black caps...

It is the diversity of opinions and trucks that makes this forum rich and vibrant!

I went sport package with my Lariat. Agate black, but I am keeping the factory black and chrome 18’s. I did replace the factory fender badges with black American flags. Did black and grey vinyl overlays on the blue ovals and left the outer chrome rings showing. Also leaving on the chrome tip on the exhaust. Color matched with some exterior touches looks nice. Besides the interior has plenty of chrome to satisfy anyone lol.

I went with chrome just because my intentions for the finished build is for an old school style RCSB 4x4.

But I REALLY like some of the color matched trucks guys are building. It has a more modern, high tech look.

Either, if it is done in a way that pleases me.

Color matching is much less difficult to get a pleasing result.
Chrome is harder for the manufacturer to do well for my tastes. It helps if it's a high contrast (dark paint) body color.

Chrome is like jewelry to my eyes. So it's got a narrower range of just right.

I have that set up on my SuperCrew 6.5 Box. In typical Ford style they give you big chrome tow mirror caps. Easy enough to change but it really makes me wonder if anyone is home in Dearborn sometimes.

Chrome looks good on white. That being said, chrome or black. Color match I definitely wouldn't want on a front bumper and to a degree kind of cheapens the look overall imo. Couldn't do BAP with 6.5 bed so I kept chrome.

I guess I’m old school…but I just have never warmed up to black/dark rims. I know alot of guys like that look now, and that’s all good. But for me, if there’s no contrast on the rims(if you’re going black rims you need some chrome/or polished aluminum on the rim to off set the dark rim), they appear dirty or soiled to me, and that’s what turns me off about the black rims.

It’s obviously just a personal preference, and I respect everybody’s preferences when it comes to their trucks, and as others have said, that’s what makes this forum, and passion for our rides so fun.

Btw, love all the pictures folks have posted.
