Do you prefer color matched, or chrome?

My trucks are more gentleman farmer style than rock crawler so I don't mind chrome. I went to chrome for my 2020 because the painted bumpers on my 2012 were a disaster after 100,000 miles. I went away from it because Ford's "chrome-like PVD" wheels and running boards don't age well. Painted bumpers will chip and corrode, but at least with paint you can do a respray after 5 years. In the end it was as much about wanting something different than having a real strong preference. They all look good when they are new. My 2020 and 2022 Lariats.

I went back and forth on this too for my lariat 501a build and decided that the extra cost of color match bumper and/or blackout, chrome was good enough for me to trim back on $. Sometimes I'd wishd I'd gotten color match, but other times the chrome just pops. Either choice is great if you don't have a strong preference for either.

I like the chrome look. I have a 22 platinum, and only the bumpers are color matched, every other part is chrome(handles, power running board trim, belt line moldings, mirrors, tailgate handle, vent on sides, bright polished aluminum 20” wheels, grill) it makes the truck pop with the deep antimatter blue metallic paint.

One negative I will say with the chrome is some of the interior peices can catch the sun and its blinding. Chrome inside gets annoying.

My 2018 was chrome but I traded it in for a 2021 with color match. I like the color match much better.
