Disable horn sound when walking away?

If I leave my truck running and walk away with the FOB, the horn will go off twice. I do this all the time and the horn is getting annoying. Is there some way to turn this feature off?

You can using ForScan.

Other than Forscan, you can either leave the key in the truck or turn off the engine.

Crack the door. Don't fully shut it and it won't sound off.

Really wish there was an easy way to turn this off. Don’t have forscan yet but this “feature” is driving me insane. Especially when doing stuff with a trailer when I constantly have to get in and out of truck.

That was my reaction too, unfortunately this is the only way to use the generator feature. The truck has to be on the whole time you use the generator.

When you walk away with the key in your pocket but the vehicle is on, it can't shift out of park.

I do all the time on my way to work. Stop in a grab a coffee takes a couple minutes and in upstate NY, I'm keeping my truck toasty.

Simple push the button to turn it off. Grab the mail and hop back in the truck.

I think all trucks do this now. It's annoying as heck! It would be nice to turn it off but then people will be complaining that they didn't get a warning when they left their trucks running or the key was still in the truck. Ford has to do what they have to do so they don't get complaints. There are owners out there you leave their trucks running or the keys in the truck and forget. Let's not forget that there has to be a warning on coffee cups letting you know that the coffee is "hot" lol. Just as a reminder. Sad but true.

Learn about Forscan. It takes intelligent people to figure it out what numbers to change, but it does not take real smart people to make it work. I am proof of that. I made several changes in my 2019 XLT, but many less changes in my 2021 Lariat. I have made a few and am VERY happy we have people that can find out how we can make these changes.
