DD fog pocket

Since I was having to replace my bumper why not upgrade fogs since the bumpers off!

Overall very easy install, since I had to remove the entire bumper to replace it. If you were doing this just to upgrade your fog lights it is a hell of a lot of work but very worth it.

Install: 10/10
Fit and finish: 8/10
Output: 12/10

Before installing

You have to remove the entire front end just to replace fog lights, c’mon. Very simple must of us have already done this before!

Installing the DD brackets

You have to remove the air dam if your truck is equipped, six bolts. Mounting is very simple the same bolts used to secure the factory lamp are reused for the bracket. It just uses two less screws.
I decided to wire the pods together and run the lights off the factory switch. I used white pros on the inner opening and selective yellow sports on the outer opening.

I tested to make sure everything was working and then spent time aligning the pods. The light projection from the pods is so precise it is amazing. I put the pro whites the lowest and then put the selective yellow slightly higher.

I will definitely play with the alignment in the future but after the first night drive I’m very happy.

Through this swap I replaced the entire front bumper and switched headlight drl color. If you look very close you will also notice I now have a 4wd valence, tow hooks, Swarfworks plate braket, and ecoboost inner grille. Sorry @Graygoose2021 the tow hooks are black. Thanks to @arsenal11 for sending out the towhook covers. I am very happy with the finished results.

Lighting performing at night!

Lows and fogs
Low beam is AlphaRex Luxx, fogs are pro white/sport yellow DD SS3 in fog pattern

Fogs only:
Using DD fog bracket with white pro inner, selective yellow sport outer

Rear lights:
DD SSC2 sport in flood pattern

Now I just need to cover long distance! Thinking possibly 3 dd spot ss3 pods.

is there a reason that you bought these instead of the elite series fog lights? I had the ss3pods on my 2015, but the dual pods seem out of place on the 14 gen. I ended up preordering the 3000k elite fogs and can’t wait to install.

1. I didn’t want to wait and sit in the preorder process.
2. DD has released no output shots for the fogs
3. I had a pair of SS3’s sitting
4. I personally think they look pretty awesome, with one yellow one white
5. I have experienced the output of a single pair of SS3’s, so I knew 2 would blow me away
6. I can almost guarantee that the output of the dual SS3’s will be at least triple the elite fog, and for my situation it cost me less because I had a pair not in use

Looks really good. Really digging the valance change, that's something I've been considering bc the STX valance just isn't that attractive. And those Alpha headlights look killer.

I did the BajaDesigns fog pockets back in October, but chose to go with clear lenses on all four pods. And let me tell ya....those suckers are BRIGHT. It makes a huge difference when driving on roads with no/poor lighting. I also need to do the bambi mode mod.

Really close to going with a this set, but torn on which colours and optics. I notice you went for fog optic for both @SpaceWhiteF150 , which is not one of the default options (I've asked them if they would swap it, otherwise could buy the lenses separately). I think that is a good plan if you aren't using them for offroad lights or have other plans for pods/light bars elsewhere.

Also you have 1 set of Sport and 1 set of Pro because you had some on hand - I can only imagine the output of 2x Pros if your photos are any indication!

I would recommend exactly what I did if if you like white light. The sports are yellow and the pros are white. If you are wanting yellow go all yellow, I’m now wanting to switch my white pros for yellow pros it is all personal preference. I think that two pros would be overkill for on road use.

Yeah, I was thinking if I did one yellow one white it would be more of an either/or setup - whites wired to my factory fog switch and yellows aimed just slightly higher like you did wired to a separate switch. Run whites for most highway driving, turn those off and fire up the yellows in poor weather. Both simultaneously only if really called for (off road).

Or just do like you are wanting to and make all 4 yellow...
