I don't think any carmakers except zee Germans use real (full grain) leather anymore. Even the genuine leather in American cars is actually the fake stuff.
That's why I have Katzkin in both my F-150 and Jeep Wrangler, real leather. I just got the leather in my Jeep about 3 months ago, the Jeep is a '24 and I can not believe how much nicer it is than factory fake leather!

why would anyone not want to have all the extra stuff, it’s a no brainer but some will try to say that they don’t need it or care about it so they can feel good about their purchase.
Why load up on extra crap that I'm never going to use when it may break and eventually shut down half the computers in the truck?

More isn't always more or better. Sometimes, less is more.

Anyone remember when the King Ranch interiors were actually saddle leather? They felt like a worn baseball glove. Pretty sure we haven't stopped murdering millions of cows every year, so not sure why the supply of leather would dry up.
They were also a maintenance nightmare. Near impossible to keep them looking nice. But yes, when they were new or painstakingly maintained, nothing was better.

I always say the same thing when people buy Apple laptops. Why would you not get that extra storage/RAM/faster processor when you're given the (only) chance

The Supercab is still available up to XLT trim for 2025. You do have less options available than in the past though, unfortunately.
We're discussing the LARIAT trim tho, not the XLT. 😅

People don't realize most leather today isn't. The material cost is higher than leather, but it's also a more durable product. Leather ends up being more expensive due to flaws in the hide, but as a raw material it's cheaper. Faux suede is a superior product compared to real in all aspects.

Faux products end up completely uniform in construction/quality with the color being part of the material itself and not a dye.
I must consider re-upholstering my 2001 GS-R leather seats for next year's project. The driver's side has the bolster (in/out) wear and the passenger seat area has become hardened (lack of seat time) over the years, even with weekly leather care.

This thread almost makes me feel better about paying 57K for a used 21 PB Supercrew Lariat 6.5 that I bought in 2023 😅

Tilt steering wheel , Camera Bed, real leather. As a Ford homer , i'm truly disappointed in Ford. Its one thing to say we have to raise prices but when you also take options away at same time, that's is a damn shame. A loaded 502A PB from 24MY went from 76k to 25MY and now 80k. I was actively looking at GM this time around but Ford actually had a better deal for me so i bought my 24.
shrinkflation :)

No way man, GS-R seats are great for street and racetrack driving, just the right amount of bolster support and padding, and not as hard as a very unpractical CF race seat.

You're talking about an Acura Integra?

Yes, the actual seats!

I had a 2001 GS-R donor, the entire seats, carpet, and lower center console were retrofitted into my '92 Civic (aka: The toy car).

I mean they were probably great 25 years ago and IIRC they were just Recaro copycats

Nah, they're still great, nothing wrong with the padding, etc., aside from the REAL leather upkeep issues. And Recaro never made a "plush" seat for this era, it was a hardened seat with padded bolsters, the same ones you will find in the Type-Aaaargh.

So we are. I browse the forum on my phone a lot so sometimes it's harder to see what thread I'm even replying to compared to my 29" 4k monitor at home, lol.

So uhh, *cough* yes it sucks Ford is deleting things from the Lariat trim level.
