Here’s the thing I mentioned to check the voltage, though if the battery is drained so much that the door won’t open, I don’t know what good it will do with push button start.

https://www.amazon.com/INNOVA-3721-Battery-Charging-Monitor/dp/B000EVWDU0

A parasitic drain that makes the battery go flat once is enough to ruin a flooded lead acid starting battery, they’re really only meant to turn the starter and energize the alternator.

You would think that there would be a better way to manage all the wireless functions, keep the battery at a level of charge to where it’s not damaged and preserving enough power to actually start the truck and drive it.

Is there only one battery in these trucks, or is there a second one? I know some auto top start systems have a motorcycle battery hidden underneath the regular battery. Euro cars have had second batteries in the trunk for a while now. Sometimes, electronic gremlins can be solved by swapping out the auxiliary battery.

I have on of these battery monitors shown in the above post. It does a good job of monitoring battery and charging voltage.
I agree with the comment that Ford should really include a voltage guage as one of the selectable gauge options.

Joining the club of dead batteries I figured it was a result of me not driving for 5 days and mild cold but it didnt feel right. Thankfully I found this website forum.

Ill have to schedule the recall on the truck to fix it hopefully it corrects the battery issue

Someone mentioned rust? What is that in regards to?

Congrats on being famous in Detroit.

Also good news that Ford said that update will fix it.
I live near Detroit and I’m already famous. Haha, at least the first part is true. :p

Looks like someone is trolling this forum for a solution.
ford engineers?
reporters?
ford technicians?

I may laugh out loud if the ultimate solution is currybob’s NORCO battery booster.

(no disrespect for those having issues—will not be laughing AT you,)

I grew up there. I can't say I've been quoted in the Free Press but I did get in a report on channel 4 when I was in college. ;)
Then I’d say you’ve got me beat. ?
