"Dear ...

On behalf of Metro Ford, we hope this letter finds you and your family well. Throughout this pandemic, we have had to adapt the way we do business, and we want to thank you, our customers, who have supported us throughout the process.

Unfortunately, due to the global shortage of ‘Semi-Conductors’ - utilized in everyday electronics from smartphones to vehicles - the automotive industry is now being affected in a way that limits the flow of the supply chain.

The reason for this email is to let you know that Ford has made the incredibly difficult decision to scale back production of vehicles for the 2021 Calendar year. Although they will still be producing vehicles, they will be prioritizing allocation to customers with Retail Orders, as opposed to vehicles for dealerships ‘on the lot’ inventory.

With this in mind, if you are thinking of replacing your current vehicle we recommend placing a Factory Order. Ordering is headache and hassle-free; take advantage of the price and rates when you order, or when your vehicle arrives, whichever payment is better!

Not only will you be given priority production, but you can order exactly what you want and need in a vehicle.

Additionally, there are Factory Order incentives up to $1,000! Also, gain 40,000 POINTS for our Rewards Program"

Couldn't tell they are prioritizing allocation to clients who ordered through retail, still waiting for build date since early Jan :cautious:

Ford stated (I believe two weeks ago?) That they have more or less stopped taking stock orders to try and catch up on the retail orders, sounds more like a dealer allocation issue than anything if you are still waiting on a VIN all together

Nope, it's the one in Calgary, Alberta, Canuckistan.

OP also missed the next paragraph too:
With the shortage of vehicles, demand for your current pre-owned vehicle has increased. Trade values are at an all-time high and you do not want to miss out on getting the most for your vehicle.

I have had my VIN since mid January, production date has been pushed back 4 times now. I never had any constrained parts/options.
