Agree... should not be able to if you signed a 'Vehicle Purchase Agreement' (or similar). This is a contract in most civilized jurisdictions, and legally binding.
If you did not put a deposit down and sign an agreement you may be on thin ice...
check your paperwork, and if you've done your part, seek legal council... you will surely not be able to replace your purchase at the same price and certainly not in a hurry presently.

Sorry to get everyone worked up, they have not sold my vehicle I was just concerned about them being able to do so. I did not put a down payment because I am well established with that salesman. Just not sure about the dealership. I do not have a signed contract just a order form that is signed

I have always been told its the transfer of money that makes these kinds of agreements binding.

I would be very surprised if they were to do that. Could they? Sure, they could do a lot of things. I'm sure there's fine print on the purchase agreement that would get them out of any liability if they needed it, but I would be shocked if some dealership would deliberately go selling a car out of from underneath someone unless they had good reason to do so (Buyer getting cold feet, delaying the sale once it arrives, etc etc).

I ordered my truck in March and tried to sign an order and put down a deposit, even mentioning my fear. They would not take a deposit. I am honoring my part and waiting for my build - I'm sure they are not getting lots of requests for 4x2 PB.

Still scared, but the green sticker has my name on it.....

That's right... I'm not a lawyer but as I have understood it, a contract needs 3 things:

1. the 2 parties are named,
2. the scope of the agreement and,
3. "consideration" which is an exchange of monies.

I never understood when i was younger why a guy would sell, for example, a sports team for a dollar. I guess it completes teh contract relieving the seller from future liability.

Yes, unfortunately, while we have a system where you can sue, a handshake won't stand up.

On a custom ordered truck the stickers the window is green where a stock has the blue stickerI think this is what you are asking
