Dealer forgot to add my DL for my Retail Order

I just found out last Friday from my local dealer that my Retail order did not get submitted in with drivers license. I put my order in on 4/14/21 and had a build date of 7/19, but since the KC plant is closed that week it's getting pushed again to 8/11. They were going to reach out to their Regional Rep to see if they can get my build pushed up since they screwed up.

First time I have ever ordered a vehicle and was excited about it, but I don't know if I will ever do this again!

Did you still receive a green retail order window sticker or was it blue? How did you find out they didn’t submit your drivers license I ask because I suspect my dealer didn’t either.

I ordered on 5-13 and have yet to give my DL info. Truck is to be built on 8-10.

This sounds like pretty normal timing, many KC builds keep getting pushed like crazy, I doubt the lack of driver's license is to blame for any of your delays.

My order was places on 3/13 I’ve seen order months after in driveways.

They don't need your DL to place an order an order to get it built. The dealer may require it but Ford could care less.

The DL was to be used for the Customer Order Verification Program (COVP), which is how ford bumps retail orders to the front of the line. It was never an absolute requirement

Yeah, the dl is required for covp priority, but I was under the impression dealers could still enter retail orders without it. If applied for covp, dl should have been included.

Orders with a signed build sheet and drivers license, name, email, and address get priority due to dealers putting in “dummy” orders.

The original sales person left the company and now I am working with his old manager. When I spoke with her she pulled my file and said my DL wasn't there. They are trying to see if they can get the build date moved up from 8/11 to something earlier. Was supposed to be built this week, but with KC down this week it screwed me.
