How does that work when the mirror port isn't always powered? Just curious.
It has a built in Lithium Polymer battery. How does that work when the mirror port isn't always powered? Just curious.

I am quite interested in this one, but need a place that’s will do the super clean install. Any recommendation? I saw BestBuy offers to install. If you guys want a super clean install and one of the best Dash cameras I’ve used check out the Garmin 66W. They also have an even smaller rear camera that you can install and their app will blend both views into one screen when reviewing if you want. Mine took me just a few minutes to install and it’s clean and neat. I’ll post some pictures later.
You can use the included USB C cable and install in about 5 minutes by routing the wire along the headboard, to the passenger post, down under the mat, and up into the console. I did this on my last truck and it worked flawlessly for the 3 years I had the truck. If you wanted the most perfect hardwire install, then buy the hard wire kit and instead of routing to the center console, you route to a power source, still super easy. I have tried many dash cams, and so far the only one that has provided good quality service is the Garmin. You can also add another one, like the Garmin Mini, to the rear, and the app will stitch both views on one screen.I am quite interested in this one, but need a place that’s will do the super clean install. Does the camera stay powered up with the "auto start/stop" function? My current setup took less than 10 minutes to install, without running a long power cord to fuse panel or other power source.

I'll probably upgrade to their new Rove R2- 4K Dash Cam once my 3 year old cam above fails.

It looks like you are using fuse #2 and #35 to power your Thinkware U1000.Don't have the greatest pics as I took them in my garage as an after thought. I went with the Thinkware U1000 2channel dash cam with backup battery from blackboxmycar. Here are some install pics that I could take. The power wires from battery to front cam run along the headliner and down the C post to the battery mounted behind the 60 side of the rear seats. The cable for the rear cam runs along the headliner to the rear. The power for the battery runs along C post to headliner then down the B post and under the front door seal to the fuse box in the passenger seat.
In my pics the green and purple lines are supposed to represent the routing for the camera and power wires to battery and the red from battery to fuse box but i realize its not the greatest. If you guys need more pics or info I can retake pics and reply back.
