I have. It is good quality video, but is only front view. It is an Escort M1. I went with it because it mounts with my radar detector. It was in my previous Lariat.

Looks like a nice setup. Can you tell us how you wired it. ThanksI have. It is good quality video, but is only front view. It is an Escort M1. I went with it because it mounts with my radar detector. It was in my previous Lariat.

It is mounted with a Blendmount. I took it to a local custom audio/truck accessory shop. It is wired to the BCM (they actually pinned in from the back) and the runs up the a-pillar over the the mirror. They normally charge about $75 for this, but they were installing a Retax Pro MX I purchased from them, so they threw it in. for this or Blackvue you can actually use a mirror tap (also from Blendmount) that taps the back of your mirror.

I really hate how Ford doesn't offer the ability to record from the 360 cameras. This just seems like the modification you really need. We have grill/bed/tailgate cameras. The side ones might not be at the right angle to capture video evidence.

If you are referring to my Escort with the camera, The camera comes with a mount to attach to the radar detector, and the radar detector come with a pretty good suction mount. The Belntmount in my truck was about $100 U.S.

DR-900X 2 Channel 4k UHD is pricey but is arguably one of the best quality/looking cams imo.

This brings up a good question. In my current 2013, I run a dashcam that plugs into the 12v (cigarette lighter). Because this is powered even if the truck is off, I have to unplug it every time I am done driving. I've seen a video where on the GM trucks, you can move a fuse to a different set of pins to change that behavior and the 12v is only powered when the truck is on. Is there something available like that on the new Ford F150s?

One of the big promises in this generation is the ability for over the air updates. This is how Tesla added the functionality, we can only hope Ford will do the same. Of course I have my doubts...

Same here. It will be a subscription if available. Ford is looking for that run rate business. I would welcome 360 or even front rear integrated dash cams though.

The Ford accessories dash cam has motion detection and will record when the vehicle is left unattended. Not 360 but total front and back. You can access all recorded incidents thru app on phone. I’ve had it on my 2020 Expedition for over a year and would recommend it if a dash cam is what your looking for. The app could be better but what app couldn’t?
