Custom painted emblem on Rapid Red

I'm looking at getting a custom painted ford emblem for my truck (esp since i Put the matte black tailgate letters in).

I'm considering 3 options, 2 of which I found some examples (may not be Rapid rad, but I figure it's close enough. Also may not be a 2021/22)

Replace Blue with Rapid Red. I would do matte black as the chrome

Matter black where the blue is with Rapid Red replacing the chrome:

And finally, Matte black replacing the blue, with gloss black replacing the chrome. I think this is my preferred one when looking at the emblem, but I'm scared that in reality it will just turn into a big black void. I think on a black truck it would look more in place.

If anyone has a Rapid red with the last option on their truck, can they share it? I'd be interested to see how it looks.

Interesting. My wife said the same thing. Of the 2 with the red, I'm leaning towards #2

I also need to find some pictures of them on the front (I may have to do a different version there)

I thought about #2 but the red background makes the black Ford letters pop. I feel like it wouldn’t quite have the same effect if it were reversed.

Hmmmm..another contender. I like the more stainless look vs the chrome that the normal ones have. Is that the BAP ones?

I like #1. It would break up the larger sections of black (top of the bumper, letters, and I'm assuming tonneau cover)

If my memory is correct they were Ford OEM from a 2020 p/n. Rear was a direct bolt on. The grill was a bit harder, I had to build a bushing for the camera.

Some of that might be the picture. It's not very good ,but it's the one I found with that color scheme.

I have bought three cans and all matched the color perfectly on different projects. I am waiting on my Carbonized Grey to come in so I can paint my emblems. I bought more emblems from the dealer and will probably sell my "used" ones after I swap them out for the painted ones.

But it's your truck, you do which one looks best to you.

I was thinking of outsourcing it because Rapid Red is a tri-coat and I'm not comfortable doing that myself

But I will most definitely do what I like. At this point I'm thinking of getting some vinyl overlays so that I can test each one out (though it may not be the exact colors, I think it will be close). The custom painted options are too pricey to get something and not be happy with it.

Yeah that picture isn't the best but here are my thoughts.

The truck tailgate has a red background with black lettering (F-150). The emblem also has a red background with black lettering. Keeping that same theme is just more visually pleasing to my eyes.

In the end you will have to live with it so make sure you do your due diligence!
