I don't disagree. From my point of view, if you can get the warranty locally for what you can get it at Flood or Ziegler, why not do that. 6 years from now when the Service Manager is arguing with you about something, at least you can say "I bought this warranty through your dealership".
That is a great point and for most situations that would be best, but not for my situation. In my case no local dealer would even budge $1 from MSRP even for an order. In fact they told me how wonderful they are because they are not going to charge me an additional mark up. Granger worked with me on the price of the truck (saving big thousands of dollars) so throwing them a bone with the ESP is an easy call for me.

We need more dealers like Granger and less like the run of the mill guys.

I bought my truck under invoice from a dealer about 40 minutes from me. The dealer that does my service is at or above MSRP and doesn't budge. Even back in 2018-2019, I approached them about a truck and they were at MSRP. The best, however, is that there is another local dealer that runs a Facebook ad with the tag line "Top Secret" and a salesman whispering that the order books are open and they can lock you in today at MSRP on a new F-150. I am not against free market or capitalism, so more power to them if they can convince folks to buy at those prices. I see more and more trucks (and cars) locally with dealer tags from 50-100-200 miles away.

I got off topic. Yes, throwing Granger a bone on the ESP is the way to go. Those guys are solid and I really hope other dealers look at their volume and realize that this is the way forward.

Just today approached my home dealer F&I who we have purchased 3 vehicles from in the last 6 months and 7 vehicles in family in the last two years who would not budge so Grainger it is for both my new 22 F150 Lariat and the Wife's 21 Bronco!

Yeah I would rather reward places like Granger who do it without asking than go locally have to negotiate and then they act like they’re doing you a favor for not ripping you off.

Buy now or buy later was my dilemma too! Given the theatrics of the last few years, availability in X number of months was a big question. Bought now. How long will Granger or other specialists be able to make deals?

From what I've seen on the "always reliable" Internet, these trucks seem to be visiting Mama Ford more than some years past. How many times do you want to argue with a service department about a rental or loaner car? Get the rental car 1st day and always have a ride home.

As always, YMMV, AFAIK and don't try this at home, we are trained professionals.
Do they have to give you a rental with a factory or esp warranty? I had a hard time getting on on my still under full warranty 2020 that was also gold CPO. They just didn't have them apparently

I don't know what they have to do, but ESP does include some rental funding included.

this f150.. I bought before I had the truck... I believe with the led headlights and 12" display.. a warranty is needed. you can also count on having the truck longer than ANY other truck you ever had with 12% inflation... plan ahead...

I tried that with my last truck, in 2014. Got a quote from Ziegler Ford. Took it to the local dealer I bought my truck from, asking if they would match it? In so many words, he laughed at me. It was his choice.

So if it goes up by $100 after 12 months, that could still be worth it to me (at least here where it will cost me around $3k for the warranty). Does it go up every year of ownership or just after the first?
So let me guess your from Fl.

I got. the ford credit card before this f`150 purchase and ended up total out of pocket of $900 after the points (of buying the f150) for the 100k/7r/100 deductible. that is a good deal to protect a $66k truck for seven years. and.. I am thinking trucks are going to be a luxury. you are going to need a $300k salary for one in five years.. so we will need to hang on to our f150s for a long time.. no trading them in every 30k miles anymore.. those are the days that are over...

My ESP covers 1st day rental. Not exactly sure how the repair deductible figures into that benefit. I'll have to ask!

Any ideas on what the increase will be in October? I thought I read here somewhere that they are going up on 10/4. I have been debating getting one, but would rather wait until I am closer to the end of my 3/36 mfg warranty. But if it is going to be a big jump, I will bite the bullet now.
