I have a coolant leak. I had a big yellow pool on my garage floor. It looks like the part where it is leaking has something to do with the Electric Battery cooling system. Spent almost 45 minutes with Ford parts guy trying to figure it out. I went to service department, showed them the pictures and they have no idea. It looks like the leak is where the lines attach to some kind of valve. I tried tightening up the nut where the two lines manifold to the part. It still has a slight leak. It looks like the tubing didn’t seat correctly. This will be a long process as you can’t even get a service department to look at it without leaving it for a few days. Add that to the fact a part number can’t even be determined and you have a nightmare!

Yea, I know what you’re saying. You’ll have to down the truck for at least a few days.

There's probably an o-ring in there that isn't seated properly. Tightening it down will help, but if there is something else in there sealing it, it'll likely only get worse with time.

the image you refer is the control valve for the refrigerent to the coolant cooler for the high voltage battery.
the seal you show seal the refrigerent. if you feel that is coolant leak then is not coming from there. maybe the black rubber hose beside are for coolant. dont tight the bolt too much that will cause refrigerent leak. make sure its not oily as it look like refrigerent pag oil. the coolant in this cooler is for the electric powertrain. look for low coolant level in the small degas bottle and that will confirm its leaking electric powertrain coolant.

Please let us know what you find out. I looked under my Powerboost yesterday and may have something similar going on. I'm keeping an eye on it for now.

The nuts you are showing to have tightened are A/C lines, looks like refrigerant is run to that cooler which cools antifreeze for the battery cooling system. Definitely new technology for the PB.

Do you have a picture of the puddle on the ground? Are you sure its actually coolant leaking?

Moral of this story - ensure you have complimentary rental coverage through your dealer if you're like many who have a PB on order but haven't yet closed the deal!

Its not refrigerant. When I loosened the nut, the coolant came out. It wasnt like a high pressure refrigerant spewing out. The hoses that attached to the device are going up to the coolant reservoir. I think that it's and O-ring that is damaged possibly?

the new type of oil in refrigerent can be confused with coolant because of dye added in oil. it is possible to make oil leak if you loose the nuts just enough before the gas start leak. there is no reson to have coolant in these lines.

You might be right. I think it could be refrigerant oil. It is so hard to trace the lines to see where it goes. This is going to be a nightmare to get fixed. I just texted my dealer. The first available appointment is May 19th. Also noticed a bunch more rust on the front end frame by the wheels. Ugh!@1!@
