The way to solve such a situation is to have a controller that outputs an AGM float voltage. 13.3 - 13.4v is the perfect continued presence voltage. The AGM will only take charge if it needs it, but won't charge if it's already around 90% SOC. You could go lower but may see no benefit outside of offsetting small current pulls equivalent to the panels output.
Its just an ancient 5W panel. Getting a charge controller for it, probably wouldn't be cost effective.

But if AGMs are more resistant to overcharge, and or, the power point is on the downstream side of the BMS, as one could assume and it would automatically regulate, protecting from over charge, there shouldn't be a need.

If all it did, was replace parasitic draws, keeping from the low battery condition problems, it will have done it's job.
