I did a video about a year ago on my Powerboosts catch cans...
I have 2, one on each side..they both fill up between 3,000 and 5,000 miles.

That's a very nice looking setup.

How & why did you put in two of these? There are not two sets of plumbing taps, one on each side. Also the crankcase is open around the crankshaft so only one would capture the same amount as both. The flow of clean air down one cylinder bank throught crankshaft area and up the other cylinder bank should result in the same flow.

Followup: After ~6400 miles, I have observed this...
About 2 fluid OZs of oil have been collected.
With warm weather the amount of liquid collected has dropped to near zero. The last few checks I've done have yielded so little fluid that it doesn't even cover the bottom of the catchcan.

More accurate numbers @ ~7800 miles
1.25 ozs oil; 12.6 ozs water & other "stuff"

By late April when the temperatures were consistently above 40ºF the amount of liquid dropped to near zero except two recent trips climbing over South Pass in Wyoming (EG extended near full manifold pressure turbo runs). This was maybe 1/4" of oil in the catchcan. Those two trips yielded a visible oil layer in the can bottom that calculated out to about 1/10 of an Oz of oil. Engine dipstick does not show visible oil loss.

So it seems that the oil catch can is really only needed for cold climates ?

My experience so far seems to say something like that. Recall that I am in Wyoming where winter temps can get down to -40ºF although -10º to -20ºF is more common. Also much of this was during a time where I had a couple of trips a day of around 2-4 miles. I did see a run on the interstate of a couple hundred miles where I saw a can's worth of liquid. But clearly now that temps are up the collection is way down.

It is now early November 23. With the colder weather has come more in the catchcan. Specifically this morning I emptied it after a little over 900 miles since last empty. The can had about 1 3/8" of oily liquid in it. This was probably 2/3s full. This seems to track with last winter's experience. Wondering if this has something to do with airflow in the engine compartment. Could it be that the colder weather brings about a colder airflow past the catchcan? This then condensing more liquid? Curiouser & curiouser.

After some of Thanksgiving driving and draining of the catchcan (with colder weather...). Since installation late last January, have captured about 25 Ozs liquid with about 15% of it (almost 4 Ozs) oil. Most of this was during cold weather.

Thought I would give any update...

Its been roughly a year since I purchased my truck and installed my catch can. I have not emptied the catch can since my last post (I keep forgetting to tell the service guy to check it)...

The truck is 17,400 miles on the odometer now and I emptied my catch can this weekend. It was roughly 2/3-3/4 full.

It did keep some nasty gunk out of the system. Feel pretty good about my purchase.

What I've noticed is that in cold weather well below 32ºF a lot of liquid collects in it. My rule of thumb when weather gets down to such temperatures is empty it every 500 miles. In summertime, I see little to no liquid.
So I think that for North Carolina, particularly Coastal North Carolina, your results are what I would expect.
