Was easy to carry 5 bikes, 4 riders, and gear with the 5.7’ bed F-150. Could’ve fit a sixth bike but that slot would have caused its tire to rub on the passenger side taillight so that’s no good

Can't tell from the picture, but is there some kind of bracket in the bed that holds the bikes upright?

It's a tailgate pad and it has a space between blocks that the bike’s down tube slots into and a velcro strap that goes around the bike’s down tube. That keeps the bike snug and it doesn’t bounce up and down.
On the way out we used a tie down to secure the bikes down but on the way back we didn’t use a tie down and in 200 miles of highway driving the bikes didn’t budge an inch.
Some more pics for reference.

NICE!!!

Thank you for capturing in pictures the exact, best reason (for me) for getting a full-size truck, lol!

Not sure if you noticed but they are hanging out of the bed in the back.

I'm contemplating a tailgate pad like that to haul bikes while camping. Just not sure if it would still leave room for a couple rows of firewood and if the bikes would interfere with the trailer hitch.

4 of the 5 bikes were ebikes weighing 56-60 lbs each. Hardest part is lifting them over the side in position without hitting the truck lol

The trailer hitch was clear. Depending on how many bikes you're hauling you could load them on the sides and leave the middle open for the camera and easier hitch access, but the wheels hang a lot higher the hitch.

Plenty of room between bikes too. Along with the 5 bikes, we fit a large cooler, 4 backpacks, gear bags (pads, helmets etc) and had some room to spare.

Probably near maxed on payload though. ;)
