I have only had my truck a week or so. What I have noticed is truck only connects wireless..but doesnt seem to connect with a usb connection. Mainly looking to improve audio. I have tried a couple different std usb cords...same thing. Do I need to get a usb-c cord?

During playback you can plug and unplug phone...nothing changes. I select iphone as source.

Any ideas?

Here is what is displayed when I select sources. It has Bluetooth or Iphone...neither is a wired connection.

I'm not an IPhone fella, but on Android I can disable wireless Android Auto. Thus the truck ONLY has Android Auto via USB, so that is what I get.

I chose this method to ensure that Android Auto is only on when I choose it to be, as well as getting the "better" sound related to direct VS wireless.

Still, I can connect the phone via Bluetooth and so that "source" choice is always available when I'm in the truck with my phone.

Maybe IPhones have similar options?

Thanks Snake....with my Iphone...I just went to settings on the phone...turned off carplay....now it accesses carplay when I plug in my phone....thru usb. Guess it was only using wireless...when turned on.

Problem solved!

The collective is inevitable. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

I am tempted to do the wired for the better audio quality as well as the charging. The wireless charging by Apple plugged in an adequate adapter in the 12V accessory port barely supplies power to keep the charge constant. If I have to plug in the lightning port anyway, might as well have wired CarPlay.
Next is to find a good spot for the phone with wired connection as I have the bench seat and now my wireless is just a drop on top.

Well wouldn’t you know it…my old iPhone 7 doesn’t support spatial or Dolby …so off to the apple store tomorrow. I haven’t had a reason to upgrade til now.
