What is everyone doing for Winter Tires?

Mine came from the factory with Hankook Dynapro AT2... the website (Hankook) indicated that it would have the 3 Mountain Peaks symbol, but upon closer inspection it does not. It has the M+S symbol, which is the minimum required for HWY 1 in BC, but the tread pattern does not instill confidence.

I’ve seen guys just buy 2 tires for the rear and call it a day.... it’s not as effective as 4 but I guess it will suffice?

Interesting...was hoping to get away without having to get winters because I'm doing a short term lease. I get a small discount on insurance if I have winter tires too..

I used BFG KO2s year round on my 2015 F150, which is what I’ll probably do when I get my 2021. They have the three-peak mountain snowflake and perform ok in snow. Though I‘ve always been tempted to buy studded Hakkapeliittas for the added safety when driving on icy roads.

On another note, my truck arrived at the dealer on Thursday. Total 14 day transit from Dearborn. It seems that Ford threw in a rust package that I didn’t order. I’m not sure yet if I’ll be accepting the truck.

Damn, was hoping it would come with the 3PMS symbol. I read over on RFD that some people are negotiating with their dealer to give them credit towards a different set, might try that and get the Falken Wildpeak AT3W or KO2's.

I ordered mine with the LT tire package (18" wheels), they come with General Grabber APT's. The Generals are winter rated, we'll see how they do. On my 2016 I had the LT tires from the factory and it came with the Goodyear All Terrain Adventure, they are winter rated, but I didn't find them to be very good in the snow compared to the Michelin LTX winters I bought.

The 2021 F-150 is in a class of its own, this truck is an exceptional vehicle.

Congrats! Was your truck from the KC plant? Do you know what your ship date was? I'm trying to figure out the shipping time from KC to Halifax. Mine shipped on March 15th, "transit date" says 22 days but my ETA isn't until April 21st.

yeah, whats the verdict on this? Everywhere i read on this it said it has the 3PMS but i, too, couldnt find the symbol on my tires. I just sold them to a dude thinking they were and id hate to have led him wrong.

Shipping via CONVOY. I didn't think there were trains involved from KS to Windsor, but it seems that may be the case. It might just be an intermodal yard.

End date seems way out there.. anyone have any opinion on when they may think it will arrive based on previous experience?

Edit: Probably worth mentioning I had some "rare commodities" on this order - Wheel well liners and the work surface.

Not sure but most vehicles shipped via rail, goes to Toronto yard first then distributed from there to most of ontario and out province east. So you may have your truck pass by you only to have it travel via transport truck back.

Well, the time has come. I’ve been delaying posting any pictures of my truck because 1) I haven’t had any time to play with the truck due to work, and 2) I was waiting until I got my new decals on. Got them on today and they look great.

Ignore the first pics with the blue logos... they are now all black, with a sliver of chrome, unfortunately the sticker didn’t cover it all. Also had the dealer remove the FX4 decal so I could put a blacked out one. I chose to do the matte metallic black, which is the same as the in the logo (obviously not the gloss black). It turned out amazing. I’m very happy with the look.

Here in the GTA, I have friends who work at different dealers (service department) I was told that there are a lot of complaints about the Hankook tires, a lot of truck owners who had them replaced them, seems the only good thing about them is that they are round . . . . . . . .

Thank you! Yes, my truck came out of the KC plant. It was shipped Feb.21/22 literally 12 hours after it was built, which I found hard to believe after reading about some lengthy waits to ship. It appears it was true, obviously with its arrival date. I'd say 2 weeks max KC to Halifax, 12 days -ish?

It was built priority 10 code, I ordered two trucks at the same time so I'm unsure if that had any effect on the speed. Both from MacPhee Ford in Dartmouth.

Hope yours arrives soon! I've been seeing a lot more around the city the past few days
