Can I ask my fellow Canucks what they paid for their ESP, and what option you chose (Years/km)?

I'm thinking 7 yr/100k.

I'm waiting on quotes from my dealer, but suspect they wanna wait until they get me In 'the pit' for final financial negotiations....

Unfortunately we don't have the option up here in Canauck land to buy the ESP from 3rd parties as far as I'm aware.

Thanks,

Chris

I called around to different dealerships and all about the same. $3000-3500. I took a pass.

I have had quotes from 4k up to 4.7k for the premium care package, 7 yr / 150 km. There are 3rd parties you can get extended warranty from, but I will be going with Ford.

With all the teck on these trucks and the cost of parts, I am thinking it is good insurance. I heard the 12 inch screen is around 3k to replace and then there is install and programing. But who knows, and the pricing will not come down, we all know that. My dealer labor rates are between $50 to $189 per hour, so trouble shooting and repair can add up pretty quick. Like any insurance you buy, you hope you don't need it, but is nice when you do have it. A gamble at best.

EDIT: You can buy the ESP from any dealer, but only in Canada. US dealers can't sell it up here. Phone around and get prices, I did.

In my 30yrs of buying vehicles, I have never purchased extended warranty and I've been very lucky to never need a repair that was outside general maintenance items. Going into this truck purchase I had a similar mind set with all this tech, I wanted the warranty. Looking at the cost, I just couldn't justify it though. Figure if the screen goes, pick one up off ebay or scrap yard and do the install myself or have a mechanic buddy do it in my driveway. Problem right now, is there aren't a lot of wrecks in the scrap yards. I've actually been looking for one as I want an additional 3rd brake light as I'm going to relocate the camera.

I bought a 2006 F150 with 5.4 used and the extended warranty from a dealer, had to get the cam phasers done and the radio went out twice. Warranty paid for it's self. Bought a 2011 F 150 with 3.5 EB and extended warranty, never used it and got $1000.00 back from the $2800.00 cost. So batting 500.

You have a good point about picking it up from a scrap yard if needed. I have 2 years left before I pull the trigger or not on an ESP through Ford. Will see how this truck plays out as far as repairs. One thing I have thoughts on is updating the software after the truck is out of warranty. After reading the form on FDRS and Mongoose, thinking that is the way to go for software updates. When I bought my truck, I didn't know about updating myself. For now, I am taking the sit back and see attitude.

Only reason I'd consider purchasing extended warranties at the time of the vehicle sale is that they themselves don't get any cheaper and might jump in price by the time my factory warr. is expiring. I didn't get it for my truck since i tend to trade them regularly before warr. is over. But to answer your question. I got extended warr at my dealer before, for my wifes vehicle. He sells at slightly above cost to me. No clue if he would do the same to none-customers. I can ask him for you once i know what warranty package you want.

Sure.... Premium Care 7 year 150,000 KM. If you could also add dealer name, contact and phone number would be great. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Would it be possible to check for your dealer for me as well or if you send me you dealer details that would be great. I'm looking for a 7 year 100,000 km plus interior exterior lighting with $100 deductible. It's for my 2022 Mach E. Thanks.

Get yourself a US mailing address and buy it from a US dealer. I've done it twice from https://www.floodfordesp.com/ and have never had an issue....both maintenance and warranty.

Thanks a ton. I have been looking into that and have checked on other forums but found no one who has ever used it post the 3 year base warranty by Ford to tell me it worked in Canada. Some say the dealership cannot find it but I thought it's connected to the VIN so they should have it and it's included in all worth America. Have you used it without issues in Canada and the dealership could find it easily?

Man...i forgot all about checking with my dealer for you as i had said a while ago. . PM me your VIN and year, and i'll call him to find out what he'll let you have the premium package for with zero deductible, unless you have a diff package in mind, which i should know before calling.

I've only ever used it in Canada. Never a problem. It is tied to the VIN and is valid at any Ford dealer in North America.
