I haven't felt the need for a phone holder yet. Hell, I was using paper maps, just last yr. so, late adopter applies but I do appreciate the tip of the Pro Clip. Went to their website, watched a vid for the new F150s, seems like a good choice, should I decide to need such a thing.True, if I ever need a second device or more.
So far I've been able to cram it all onto a single screen, so I am getting away with just the Pro-Clip. Strategically placed in line-of-sight and barely not blocking that iris scanning witch!
She still won't let me rest with a pimp-lean to the left, but we all know how to do that to the right anyway.
Yes, Ford's Sync NAV does. Even when you no longer have a free trial as soon as you enter your trailer dimensions for BLIS, the truck will beep at you EVERY TIME AN OVERPASS IS UPCOMING. And you can't disable trailer routing unless you resubscribe..This is feature I'm very interested in. I mean, you have it now but have you explored other ways to get that?
From what I understand, Ford's Nav will route for trailer height, if not other inputs.
Not that I can name them right now but there are other apps that do as well.
I have heard that Google maps may but also, that it will send you on inappropriate roads too. Dirt tracks, that go nowhere and should not have a TT on them.
I wish I'd made notes but I recently heard of one that not only watched for height conflicts but length (too tight turns) and even bridge capacities.
I want all those goodies but without the extra screen.
@Snakebitten - Which app are you using?True, if I ever need a second device or more.

the think I LOVE about the ProClips....theres no cable to screw with..... its a permanent set up....just drop the phone in the carrier and youre done...connected / ready to go (and no unsightly wires laying all over the damn place)!I haven't felt the need for a phone holder yet. App is OBDLink with the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury pid library addition.
A lot of folks in the RV world like Trip Wizard. And some use it for planning in conjunction with a dedicated GPS.Finally got ahold of my Truck Safety buddy. The only thing he mentioned was Garmin.
To each his own but I don't want to pay for it, or have the extra monitor, so I dug around a little and found 2 alternates, that include trailer speccs and are highly regarded.
RV trip Wizard and Truck Map, both allow you to enter the trailer speccs and keep you from weight, height and length conflicts.
Trip Wizard requires an annual subscription but is way more than just a map app.
Truck Map is free.
A web search, showed others as well but these 2 came with recommendations I trust. (fellow rvers)
I'm not sure if this is true on all Furrion models but on the newer versions, IF the side marker light you attach the side marker camera to, is wired to the turn signal, the monitor will automatically, show that view in full screen, while the turn signal is on. No toggling. The furrion was preinstalled on the trailer and it also had the side marker cameras, but you have to toggle the view on the monitor and that is a huge distraction, so I almost never use them.
What gauge wire between the fuse tap and the new 12v fuse box? After 18 months of windshield mounted accessories when towing along with cables hanging all over the dash, decided to take the deep dive into a ball mount system.
Before:
Now:
This is with the devices removed and the wires tucked under the mount. There are two USBs and two 12v quick connectors.
Install:
Grommets for wire pass through.
12v fuse box and 12v to dual usb box:
Fuse tap off passenger panel #2 which is hot only when key is present and vehicle is in ACC or ON.
Boxes tucked up and mounted behind glove box with outdoor high heat rated Velcro:
Glove box closes with no clearance issues.

EDIT/NOTES:
a. I did have to trim the four prong ball adapter due to Tireminder not using industry standard prongs. Theirs are thinner. I got a precision needle file set from harbor freight to thin the prongs on the Tackform mount.
b. To reach the inner mount screws for the Builtright dash mount, I had to use a ball end hex key due to the angle needed to reach. Didn't have any, so grabbed a set from harbor freight as well.
c. Here are close ups of the patch cables. On the left is the Garmin to 12v disconnect. For this one, I cut the cable that goes to the dock. The Garmin can also be powered by a traditional USB. You can see in the first picture the USB plugged into the unit. But by using this cable, it is hidden in the second pic going to the dock. I made a disconnect with the Furrion plug too. I was able to source the correct 3.5mm x 1.35mm right angle plug, so I didn't have to cut the cable that came with it. With this system, any type of 12v or USB device type changes means the dash is ready and don't have to rerun home run wires through the dash if a new device requires a different 12v or USB plug type. And lastly, a 1 foot right angle USB cable for the TPMS. In the pics above, I was test fitting a regular USB, and now this one is perfectly sized and cleaner looking.
