Something I don't hear much about anymore is vehicle break in. How far do I have to drive the 3.5 before I can put the cruise on for a 400 mile trip, less rest stops etc? Used to be for the first 500 miles you were supposed to vary your speed. Don't want to create headaches. Thanks.

A cursory google search brought this up for the 2020 F-150's, no idea if it changes for 2021:

3.5 EcoBoost
You need to break in new tires for approximately 300 miles (480 kilometers). During this time, your vehicle may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics. Avoid driving too fast during the first 1000 miles (1600 kilometers). Vary your speed frequently and change up through the gears early.

From page # 430 of the 2021 Ford Owners Manual. I think this is it.

On this site there is the PDF version of the operators manual - it may of been update but still good information. Once you download it to your desktop - then you can search the PDF by using the word breakin. It's all there!

I always break it in with some spirited runs and passing often. Make sure it’s warmed up properly though and try not to do any trips that the truck doesn’t have time to warm up fully. If i have to i drive around some before stopping.

I just hop in and drive like normal which is sanely. It's not a race car so what's the sense of matting it or diving deep into corners.
