I am setting up my 2023 F-150 to flat tow behind RV using neutral tow mode. Everything works as it should, but I am dealing with a somewhat common issue caused by the supplemental braking system. When the brake controller presses the truck's brake pedal to assist RV with slowing down, it triggers the brake lights, which override the turn signal coming from the motorhome. This means when you slow down, the person behind you can't tell your blinker is on. This is normally corrected by adding a brake light relay (Roadmaster has one) to temporarily disconnect brake pedal switch while towing so that RV wiring harness can do its job. The problem is, Roadmaster tells me that since 2021, Ford has changed the brake light configuration in the F150 to that there is no longer a physical brake switch. It's all integrated through the body control module and fully computerized. So my main question is, will the brake lights continue to illuminate when the truck brake is pressed while being towed, or does this get turned off when the truck "goes to sleep" after 10-15 minutes of not opening the door? I know there are other 2021 or newer F150's being flat towed out there, and I'm curious has to how they overcame the brake light override issue. Thanks!
