I am going to help My sone move some stuff this week, so I finally got around to installing the box link anchors.

  • One went in with only ‘hand’ force.
  • Two required some persuasion with a hammer.
  • One required removing the mounting plate and significant hammer action.

I hope they didn’t think I would be swapping these out with other anchors, mounts, etc. Or maybe now that they are in, they will come in & out easier.

Mine were installed from the factory. I will probably never remove them. They are handy to have for sure.

I definitely had to "get after it" to get them installed, but I also never planned to remove them once installed. However, like you, I mildly hoped they wouldn't be such a pain to remove once they were on, and now I don't know that I want to try!

I had almost the same experience, except I had to remove 2 of my plates and hammer and file down an imperfection on the box link itself and they are finally done - to NEVER be removed. What a pain!

It would have been a nice option to just have fixed tie-downs in place of the goofy box-link plates.

There is a company making them for a pretty penny.

Then others have discovered e-track hardware fits with some play

I used a file on 2 of my 4 as well. I was a little annoyed, but it was a 1-time pain - and the sun came up the next day, so oh well.
