Box Plate?

Just bought a new F150 XLT! I'm super pumped about it, but I was curious what these plates in the box are for. Does anyone use them? What for?

You can get the lockable cleats on Amazon, I added a link to some below. You can also get them with just the cleats and not the plate (which you already have).

Wow... how did you get the tamper proof torx screws with yours? Did Ford charge a $200 premium for those?

Not that you cant just hook to or tie through the hole on the box plate itself without the cleat... but they're just another tie down spot right? Why the key to loose?

So that they can't be stolen. It locks them to the plate.

In theory it's a "universal" mount, as far as I know Ford only has the cleats, and also the bed divider uses it.

Other products (sometimes called etrack) are straps, lumber divider holders, etc.

There is another 'industrial' bar/cleat system that works with this Ford mount.
