I'm in the same boat as you. Want a little more sound out of the 3.5, but don't care to spend nearly $2k CAD for a full catback system.
One option I've considered lately is simply replace the stock muffler with the 4" Corsa DB muffler for diesel trucks (part #8004002). I had a Corsa system on my old 6.2L F150 and it was awesome! Sounded killer, flawless build quality, easy to install, and absolutely no drone at any RPM whatsoever.
On paper it seems like a great option to boost the sound, stay drone free, and not break the bank...but I'm still on the fence.
