BlueCruise torture

Brand new 2024 platinum. Worked perfectly for trial period. Last week had a road trip so sucked it up and paid $75. Would not turn on, all other features worked like adaptive, lane centering etc. called 3 times got runaround ford folks seemed very confused that someone would actually pay $75 for this. Then got me to in vehicle tech. First person said an update needed to be pushed to car and had to do on home wifi and then would work. Then got home and called and new person said no such thing your truck is updated. Said there were some dropped connectivity codes and had to go to dealer. Read some posts on here of folks going to dealer and then having no clue how to fix. Any resolutions out there? This sucks- long time Ram driver finally made the switch because I love this truck but this sucks.

Are you talking BlueCruise? I have never heard of a renewal costing $75. Has it changed from $800/year?

If you do it monthly it's $75, yearly is $800. I'm still in my trial but will probably not renew due to the price. If they were to drop it to the $495 that the MY25 is supposedly getting, I'd probably do it.

It’s $800 a year or $75 a month now. Apparently ford hasn’t heard of it either. But they def charged my card

How fast were you going? I can't use hands free above 81mph. I have a 22 platinum but I imagine things are the same. Or do you mean once you renewed it's not even doing that? Did you by any chance have a setting change that would make it not turn on?

Any highway speed. My gut feeling is truck doesn’t know it is subscribed (somehow ford needs to reactivate in truck but they apparently don’t know how to do this from reading other threads). Very frustrating

And your modem is activated yes ? I did my $75 for a trip right after I left and was going 80 , took a few minutes and bam, it worked.

I have noticed lately that my blue cruise doesn't go ands free as often as it used to. On interstate 10, and Interstate 35 it says blue cruise is active but on a 3 hour trip on the highway, hands free might enable for like a half hour total. It would turn on, then like a minute later tell me to put my hands on the wheel. This is getting frustrating that it doesn't work very well any more. I want to invest in the open pilot, but I don't know if I am keeping this truck that much longer. might save it for the newer truck

Not sure what you mean by modem on. All options are on in terms of connectivity except driving data

Pathetic. I bought the truck for the blue cruise but after the trial I’ve decided it’s not worth being extorted for.
