I understand how your looking at it. You will feel more comfortable if it becomes plug and play.
There is good discussion on discord on how to work it in. You didn't say you had already tried it in you comments.
Just so others can understand., even though there are vehicles that are specifically supported it's still not polished. No end to end support.
There is the website "open pilot" that doesn't say supported. Then there is a fork that says something different.
I say that for people that have the passion or ability the device is amazing.
On discord there is outstanding support to walk you through the application.
Openpilot is a device and platform that consists of different forks. A fork is an extension from Openpilot. Sunnypilot is such an extension. It's focused on vehicles that Openpilot does not.
Openpilot is low hanging fruit. The software and development is limited to easy cars. Sunnypilot is one of a few forks that takes Openpilot and other vehicles like fords and extends support. Inside the Sunnypilot discord discussion there is support for ford specifically.
Waiting on Openpilot to officially support all ford models may never happen. But that doesn't mean that there is no value.
There has been new developments in mavericks.
I understand your aversion. I just didn't want others from checking Openpilot out just because the website says unsupported. My 2022 hybrid is not "supported " but performs amazing.
If you can get it to perform on your truck I bet you will say you will never return to bluecruse.

It's a limited number of possibilities, with zero risk, and verifiable without leaving the driveway. 😁

It could be way worse!
Think of all the testing it took for the new published feature today. (warning tag removed from rear camera)

You and me have it so easy.
@Snakebitten I’ve never used BC but I’m trying to find a way to get rid of the nanny message to keep hands on the wheel. Will this approach help that as well? Where we live in Texas it’s nothing but long straight roads and these trucks drive so straight that hardly any steering input is required so I’m constantly being told to hold on when I already am… any help is appreciated! Ty!

I don't think anyone has found a nanny disable that doesn't also disable the applicable feature as well.
In other words, disabling the eye scanner disables Bluecruise.
So if there is a hack for disabling the steering wheel nanny, I suspect it would disable Lane Centering?

By the way, I have since re-enabled the eye scanner. There's been a couple of updates to the eye scanner and supposedly the nagging witch is less of a nag. And of course BC is far better than it was when I disabled the feature months ago.

I just did a ~400 mile round trip with about 250 miles of Texas (straight) Bluecruise driving. It was SO MUCH nicer. My only gripe now is that they need to extend the BC speed limit 3 mph because 80mph has you getting out of folks way.

That's easy - put bigger tires on and your speedometer will read 80 when you are going 83-84.
