'21 Job 2 and later trucks come with 3 years of BlueCruise, but it was included in the cost of the package. Is Job 1 folks were going to have to pay for it until Ford decided to give us a free year.

BC is not free for 3 years. Nav is. They give you 1 year free BC unless you paid up front which most with job1 trucks did not
Oh well I have it free for 3 years according to my account. I have a 2022 model that came with it equipped ready to go. So far using it is amazing really wish it had that auto lane change feature

Yep you will have 3 years free as the cost of BC was baked into the cost of your truck. It's mainly the Job 1 trucks in 2021 that will get the 1 year free and then have to start paying.

Just brought my 21 Platty to the dealer for the Blue Cruise update, they said it takes about 7 hours. I spoke to in car technology @ Ford and they said because of the delay they are giving a 1 year complimentary subscription.
My truck is also getting the trailer module update too. Probably a 2 day job for both….

Last update from the TRM recall thread is that the update still isn't out for the recall, so you'll only get BlueCruise. There is an update for the TRM available if you haven't updated it yet, but it was to addressa different issue, not the recall.

I also bought a 2021 Platinum in Jan 2021. Everything has worked fine on my truck except the OTA update. You took your truck to dealer to install Blue Cruise? Were you told why it wouldn’t load via OTA? Also I have had a problem getting the slide button on for the automatic updates. It takes several try’s and that’s only after using two fingers on the slide button and area to left of slide button at same time. Take several tries but eventually the slide button will stay on……..until I switch truck off and after switching it back on I find the slide button in off position. I am in my garage and my wifi is connected to truck. Also I set the date and time for updates and that goes away after switching truck off also. Didn’t know if you experienced similar issue. Also what about other routine updates? As far as I know my truck has not updated OTA anything. Never have used this type of tech before so I am kind of lost on it. Any help would be appreciated
Sounds like you're stuck on the OTA. It has to be updated at the dealership before you will be able to recieve any updates. There was another thread on the 1.7.1 somewhere with a fix released by Ford. I printed that out and showed the dealership, they knew what to do then.

Does anyone have any success in South Florida getting the update completed?
My truck is at Grieco in Delray Beach now for the BC install. It was built May 7, 2021 in Dearborn. They say it is an 11-hour job, with at least eight module updates, maybe more. They have a specialist "expert" trained in using the FDRS system. They have asked me to leave the truck there for a week, which is no problem for me, as I have other vehicles and no towing plans until May 11. This is their first try at doing the full update on a Project 1 truck, so everyone is holding their breath.

Ugh. They supposedly updated me to BC after two days in the shop for the myriad recalls on my 21.

Got in the truck. Checked the dashboard. Still 2.3.0, just like always…

but driving home it had Different features and nagged me to look at the road for the first time, so…. Maybe? I didn’t get on a highway at speed, so it never went hands free.

Damn this!

The issue with a dealership estimating how many hours it will take to update a truck is that they couldn't possibly predict if/when FDRS is going to even make the consecutive updates available as they progress along.

Example: Let's say your truck is 3 APIM updates away from Bluecruise being enabled. The dealership is only going to have access to APIM update #1 in FDRS.

After successfully performing that update, the next update will NOT be available until all prerequisites for that next update has been met. If the tech is very knowledgeable and knows what order to update all the other modules that are part of the prerequisites, then he might be able to get FDRS to populate the second APIM update while he is still working on the truck. But it's far more likely he doesn't know exactly what the prerequisites are since they aren't documented and he sure as heck isn't going to log into this forum and digest the necessary information.

So, your truck might sit there for 2 days or 2 weeks. All the while the dealership is scratching their heads.

Also note that I have a brand new 4/11 built Powerboost that is still on the choochoo train heading for Texas dealership. I have already looked it up in FDRS and sure enough it has an update available. It's for the trailer control module.
I know what you might be thinking. :)
It's the TSB update? Afterall, it's brand spanking new truck.

Nope. It's an update, but NOT the recall/TSB update. That update hasn't been released yet.
However, countless folks have reported that they have received that update from their dealership. Not likely. :)

I am on Day 4 in the dealer attempt for the BC updates. They ran into an issue and Ford will contact them back on Monday with a fix  which i am pessimistic about but going with the flow at this time.

The bad thing is that I was working with e Ford Rep on the phone, got a case number, he was going to contact the dealer to expedite any concerns that had, and even after I contacted him with the dealer, name of advisor, tech info he never followed through. If they are not going to follow through with their own plan to assist a customer, their word is worthless. I worked in a call center for five years, and honoring the commitments you have made to customers is crucial.

When updates are performed via FDRS, the system will still show the last OTA update message you had. It doesn't know what PowerUp version you're on without the OTA. If you, or sometime, pulls the current available updates from FDRS, you can confirm if you've been updated fully or not. You can also check the Sync version, I think it's 22034 for the latest update.

Just picked up my truck from the dealer (day 24 in service). They said they got the OTA finally working but can't get the BC working and are not sure what to do. They said Ford told them to have me pick it up. I don't know what to do about that. Sounds like the dealership and Ford just gave up! Said they will call me if they come up with something else.

Haha, this exact thing happened to me today! Picked up the truck after 2 days of being at the dealer and still at 2.3 but it said bluecruise active on the dash for the first time.
I tried testing it further but it was pouring rain and crazy slow traffic so it was even having a hard time picking up lane markings so I just decided to head home. I have a trip next weekend on a known Bluecruise highway so it will get tested then.

I believe you are correct. The latest APIM available, and the one that supports Bluecruise is
