Well, I can't get it to successfully install. Even after charging overnight. I'm using a 5a Noco charger and have it connected to the BMS correctly. So I've got 1.4, but I don't.
Are you talking about OTA or did you try to do it manually with laptop and cable?

You probably are going to have to do it manually.
OTA is unreliable which is why the whole program is hit or miss with everyone.
I called Ford directly multiple times over the last year about BC and got the same old story. It's going out in a month or 2. Blah blah blah.
If you really want it, do it yourself, it's easy and for around $700 you't be done or borrow from someone.
I'm love tech so I actually enjoyed it.

I've never had an issue with an OTA update before. 1.4 is sitting in my queue, I'm not waiting for the update to show up. It's there, it just has failed during install.

OTA's are still a mess... I'm a 2022 truck and in EAP, just got 10.1.1 overnight (which was supposedly a September release). So who knows when it'll come.

I was planning on updating via FDRS while I have time off at the end of the year, probably still the most reliable plan.
I am curious if you updated via FDRS and if so how it went? I also have a 22 KR, my last update was 10.1.1 probably back in Nov.

What does BC 1.4 do different than 1.0? Does it look different?

Some useful enhancements. Here's the 1.4 announcement thread.
Thanks, that helps! I must have at least 1.2 because I know it does the lane change thing. Not sure other than if you see the update if there was another way to check what version you are on though.

It went pretty well. A bit of work but it ended up all good.

It got stuck at IPMA, a quick Google search said it's common, and the answer is to re-start it (https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/fdrs-stuck-on-ipma-update.30814/). I did this after 6 hours of waiting, and it went smoothly.

A few modules didn't clear from the list in FDRS after the update, but that didn't impact this.

rugedraw was quite helpful with forscan changes & confirming my truck was ready.

The new software is night and day better. Actually holds a lane without ping ponging, hands free works much longer, and the lane change is fun.

Make sure you have a good power supply, and pay attention to battery voltage. I had to reset mine at one point, got down to 11v but luckily got it in time

I'm in the same boat. Downloaded it last Saturday, but haven't been able to get it to install. With the battery on the charger and even installing a new H7, I had no luck. I'm starting to think it's not a battery issue but something else that's messing it up.

Well, my next move was a new battery, but it sounds like I'm going to the dealership. I ended up buying the Clore charger that is recommended on here for FDRS updates. I topped off my battery then tried updating in Power Supply mode. Still failed. I called the Ford number that pops up on the app and they said it shows it failed due to the battery, so who knows.

Ford says its battery SOC is causing it to fail. Today, I ran jumper cables to the second battery that was fully charged and hooked up the GENIUS10 to that in power supply mode. It seemed like it made it a bit farther but it still failed. Not sure what else can really be done other than waiting for warmer weather or buying a much larger power supply.

So my update finally installed OTA with no charger connected. Not sure what changed, but last night I trickle charged the battery and connected the negative directly to the post vs. on the bms sensor. I did drive a good bit this morning also. I forgot I had auto updates scheduled, but it ended up working out. I don't know if the direct trickle charge or the drive had anything to with it or nothing at all.

Edited to add that my tailgate was down. That was probably the fix...

Just a few observations after the 1.4 OTA update. Obviously, Lane centering is much improved and lane change has been awesome the little bit that I've used it. I wouldn't even call these next few negatives, just things to be aware of.

-Lane centering turns on automatically when you turn on cruise control, even on non BC roads. I typically don't use it unless I'm using BC, so I'm not crazy about this change. Not a big deal, it's just one more button to push. Is there a Forscan change for this one?

-I enabled glare free headlights in Forscan and it still works, it just behaves a little differently. More abrupt low to high/high to low changes instead of ramping up or down. It still ramps occasionally. I know this has been noted in other threads, but I think those were after enabling BC 1.4 in FDRS, not OTA.

-I disabled double honk when exiting with the key while the truck is running. It's back.

Has anyone had the issue of BC1.4 not working while raining? Mine yesterday stopped working on the freeway I use all the time, the only difference was it was raining but not bad enough to really change visibility.
