FMC official posted this on the mach-e forum, despite 21s and 22s not even receiving 1.2 yet, which was promised in Q2/Q3, a time frame that's already 2/3 complete. Both of my vehicles are in the early access program so we'll see what happens. I'm not holding my breath. I just want the improved lane holding ability more so than the so called hands free improvements. I get more frustration from the eye tracker in both modes than I benefit from 'hands free'. As soon as I get it, I'll disable hands free to see if the improved software stack works in hands-on mode which I suspect it will. The narrower lane feature shall be seen. The F150's system will work on more roads than the mach-e's will currently. Both vehicles work better than GM's supercruise though in current form.

"Our team at Ford is continuing to improve BlueCruise to make hands-free highway driving even better for you. We have a pleasant surprise for our Mustang Mach-E customers. We are delivering our latest software version of BlueCruise – BlueCruise 1.3 – even faster than anticipated.
  • BlueCruise 1.2: Includes Lane Change Assist allowing you to change lanes by tapping the turn signal and once the path is clear and In-Lane Repositioning which helps keep the vehicle in its lane while subtly shifting position away from vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • BlueCruise 1.3: Building on the previous version with all of the features of BlueCruise 1.2, it will help you stay engaged in hands-free mode longer including around curves and narrow lanes.
Mustang Mach-E customers with model years 2021-2023 equipped with BlueCruise can receive the update to BlueCruise 1.3 via a Ford Power-Up software update once it starts to roll out to vehicles later this summer. This means that vehicles with BlueCruise 1.0 and 1.2 will be updated to BlueCruise 1.3. Note, Ford Power-Up software updates are not deployed to all vehicles at the same time and this update will happen in waves.

To ensure you get this update and all the other latest and greatest software updates to your vehicle, make sure you:
  1. Turn ON Automatic Software Updates – this keeps updates coming as they roll out
  2. Set a recurring schedule –choose what is most convenient so you never miss a software update
For Mustang Mach-E customers who placed an order after May 2, 2023, or the vehicle was produced after June 30, 2023, your new electric pony will be delivered from the factory with BlueCruise 1.3.

Cheers to the next version of hands-free highway driving rolling out! "

Additional info about 1.3 and those behind it....

Our truck's software stack is the 1.0 version

"Ford engineers have massively expanded the operating window of its most sophisticated advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), allowing more drivers to spend more time with hands off the wheel.

“We’ve basically improved that 3x,” Omari says of the latest release. For anyone coming from BlueCruise 1.0, Ford says it’s closer to a 5x improvement."

Do you think Ford will update Blue Cruise to accommodate trailers? I personally would not want Bluecruise available while towing, but my bike rack has lights and as soon as I plug it in, the truck thinks there is a trailer attached and disables BC, plus a host of other items.

We need these BC updates on the F150's, and not just the Lightning.

I'm right behind you on this!

You say that like you know something regarding BC 1.2?

Yea, Ford has never really cared about their trucks or truck customers. They probably wish we would just go away. :)

Lightning is an F150 and is slated by year's end. As we've seen from the update frequency over the past 6 months, ford is getting their new team up to speed. If you read the article it'd be apparent, but I understand some folks can't process more than a headline.

So its seems from the article that this new team/ division is the reason we are getting updates on a more timely basis.

Moving from quarterly builds of their private alphas to weekly is a clear reason of why we've had several small updates pushed continually.

I'm also hoping this team does a better job with branches and merging with master, as I recall seeing several cases where an update caused a regression

Nope. Not as an update. There are one or two proof of concepts out there though

Their last attempt at 1.3 with powerup series 5.x.x failed. They're pushing 6.1.0 out to MMEs starting yesterday 28-SEP
