I have BC 1.2 on my ecoboost. While my truck does change lanes it still suffers from unexplained drops. No rhyme or reason. Over the same stretch of road it holds fine then the next day it drops control at the exact same spot.
Funny thing is it never drops when in a difficult situation. Like in a curve with traffic tight in front and to the side. In these difficult to maneuver circumstances it continues to hold. Good thing because it could cause a collision with the vehicle to my side if it just decided to drop control. Otherwise, I rarely can't get more than 4 miles without it dropping.
I have been getting nagged a bit lately to keep my hands on the wheel in non BC lane centering even though I have my hands on the wheel.
BC 1.2 is much better at smother centering but I feel it disconnects just as much as 1.0.

1.0 is no better on long straight roads than curvy ones. It still cancels all the time for no apparent reason, even when the stripes are really new and clear. It randomly throws fits to resume control out of the blue by muting your stereo, flashing and beeping, and brake checking you.

At this point I've already joined the discord and doing hard core research on what it is going to take to get OpenPilot on the F150 because I've given up on Bluecruise.
I had never heard of OpenPilot but I am ordering it tonight. It is worth a try. I understand there are some limitations with the ability to use the code with the F-150, but it will be an interesting experiment to try. Thanks for the tip.

keep in mind OpenPilot is in beta for Ford. You need a development harness in addition to the CommAI. Shoot me a PM if you wish to discuss more.

My f150 truck is fully loaded. 360 cameras, full bc. All sensors and cameras. Will open pilot work on my truck?
I joined the discord channel. Any other sources of information?
I am super interested in this.

Im reading this whole thread and thinking, "Anyone wanna buy my IPMA with BC?" Ive used it once and that was just to see if it worked. Just not a fan. 30 years plus with no accidents (knock on wood and thank you Jesus), so I guess I trust my reflexes more than a 'not rock solid' taxi driver. Throw the secondary fact I have to pay for it??? Yeah, uhhh, no....

Super informative. Still leaves me a few questions. My background is I'm a paid beta tester for a major aviation auto pilot company. I'm between projects.
I'm particularly interested in adopting this project to my 2022 f150 platinum.
My truck has every sensor, camera and software. It has park assistance, blue cruse 1.2. I understand that adaptation for the f150 is beta.
Questions are
What cables are needed?
Is the ipma involved?
Most of all where can I go to get base information on just the f150?
Discord has a #ford channel but I can't seem to navigate the hundreds of threads that talk about the basics of initial installation.
The Machefourm mentioned does not have the basic information pertaining to f150 specific.
I'm willing to do my research but need guidance .

I missed this thread when I asked for help. I'm happy you are going to make reports.
For the Ford f150 you mentioned that I need the developer cable. This is a cable with open ends? What does the cable connect to?
It intercepts / taps some of the items connected to the IPMA

Nope, there is a generic developer cable that lets you pin your own cable, but this is not that. This is the Ford Q4 development cable. I’m not sure where it actually plugs in yet as the Comma 3x device is on backorder. I will post in the OpenPilot thread with details once I receive the hardware and work on installation.
