Has anyone put a larger tire on the stock rims without a level and verified no rubbing when towing with a WDH that pushes weight to the front? Not sure if it will be an issue or not towing a TT at about 950ish lb tongue weight with a properly configured WDH. Looking at a 295/55R20 Nitto Recon Grappler for the E load rating and more aggressive tread over the stock Hankooks that came with my Lariat PB. Tire specs show 32.76” height and 12.17” wide, but that’s on a 9.5” wide rim, so I assume it will be a little bit taller on the stock 8.5” (I think) rim.

Just put on 285x65x20 KO2s (34.6" tire) on a stock truck. No level. No rubbing whatsoever. I do have 1.5" spacers on order for the rear as the rears are a little tucked for my liking. Otherwise, I am quite happy with how it turned out.

@Sentinel1201 looks great!!!!

did you notice the chrome "like" wheels are prone to hairline scratches.

its like you have to constantly buff them to keep them fresh looking.

Yeah hell no! I am not going to be polishing and fussing over truck wheels. If the chrome falls apart, I will just get them refinished in a few years or swapped out.

Wow! Looks great! I am trying to decide what I want on my Platinum, thanks for the inspiration.

This looks sweet!

Do you have any pics from the front and back to show current poke as stock w/o spacers ?

Thanks! Spacers are only in the back. Due to combo of sticking with 285 tires as well as no lift/level, my mpg has not been affected. Even if it has, it's not noticeable.

Did you have the speedometer adjusted for the new tire size?

I'm debating 285/65r20 vs 275/65/20, so these pics help for sure. Since I'll be towing a 6000lb TT, not sure I want to put on a 2" level. I did see motofab has a 1.5", but still think it'll be too much when towing.

It's all personal preference for sure.

Getting rid of the fixed running boards and going to something like AMP powersteps cleans up the side of the truck and makes it "look" lifted. I also got rid of the hideous air dam in the front. Between that and the three quarter inch gained with taller tires, I am happy with the look of the truck that I returned the leveling kit I had originally bought and intended to install.

With my 4k trailer, when hitched up, the truck is level. If you are towing a 6k trailer, your front will definitely be slightly taller than rear with a level.

My Gen 14 is supposed to ship in the next week or two...hopefully. I'm not crazy about the 18" STX rims, so I'm contemplating swapping wheels and tires.

I see that 285/65/20 is a go on +44 rims, but I was looking at the +18mm Roush rims. Can anyone comment on if the different offset will cause rubbing in the 285/65 size?

I’m torn between a couple of tires. No level plans on my PB and I pull a 9k pound TT so want to upgrade to E rated tires. Looking at the new Nitto Recon Grapplers in LT295/60/20 or the Toyo Open Country ATiii in LT295/60/20. Both would be on stock lariat PVD rims. Anyone with experience with these two tires specifically with no lift and no rubbing issues? I know I’ve seen other tires in this size without rubbing, but each tire is slightly different.

I have 295/55r22 34.8" TOYO Open Country ATIII on stock 22" rims. There is about 1/8" clearance between the tire and crash bar at full turn. It gently rubs in reverse in full turn.
I like how the tires fill the wheel wells.
