First, I would like to thank the good people at Brown Motor in Petoskey, Michigan for making sure my oil filter would never come off accidentally. :(

Anyway, as anyone knows who's done an oil change on this truck, it is a TIGHT fit with only limited room to rotate a filter wrench. I'd like to get your suggestions for the best tool for this job. I'm leaning towards some kind of extension that would be compatible with a set like this from Harbor Freight: https://www.harborfreight.com/oil-filter-wrench-end-cap-set-6-pc-56893.html

What do you folks recommend? thanks!

I bought the Lisle 61570 to fit the newer filters. Works great!

(Older filters were 30 Flute, This wrench is for the newer 14 flute design)

Yes, Except I used a swivel ratchet instead of a swivel socket.

It's the same filter cap size as a 987 Porsche 2.7 liter oil filter. 😁

With a fumoto style oil drain valve, an oil change on a Powerboost is almost a tooless affair!

mischief managed, but if I were a voodoo priest, I would put the hex on the mechanic who went full hulk mode when they put the filter on. I would also put the whammy on the jackass at Ford who designed the engine bay layout.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. Also, I already have the fumoto valve and it is a big time-saver since I have the Talon's Garage skid plate installed.

Absolutely! Thinking of making myself an AN / M12 Oil pan fitting. Then don’t have to take off that cover! Or even jack the truck up really. Instead of running a hose to an easy to get to bracket, I could run the hose up to a bracket/fitting high up on the engine and just suck it out…..

I have done mine 4-5 times and have had the best luck with a wrench like this:

On the Fumoto site they offer 4 different ones.
Which one do you guys like the best?
adjustable or ?
and do we need the adaptor extension?
Also does the blue/black safety clip come with them and is that something that will last or do you put a new clip on after each change?
3.5L ecoboost

I use the Harbor Freight set you linked above (or similar) and a swivel head, offset handle ratchet on it. it lets me angle it out of the way of all the hoses by the filter and get torque on it to remove it.

I had one of those when I started. It was the wrong size. Too big! :)
Dang. Must have been the smaller one I used. Let me change that before screws someone up! Thanks
