I currently have another 25 5.0 rental with a 3.31 rear end. This thing ain’t leaving anything in the rearview, it’s a dog. So miss my 3.5 3.73
I’m too cool, young, muscular, and sexy to drive a V6, hard pass for me. If you’re an old fart I suppose it’ll get you by :)

Totally get you but 80% of the time this engine isn’t even firing on all 8 lol. 2 extra cylinders needed to be more gutless then the 6 with boost

My Ford 3.5L has a battery drain of 40 amps overnight and so eats batteries and needs to be put on a charger each morning. And based on the hundreds of posts about this problem I am not alone. My truck's new battery is currently being charged as last night it was at 97% SOC and this morning it was at 60% SOC. I will be so very happy to drop it off at the Chevy dealer this afternoon where I took a $6,000 hit with their trade-in amount.

Every manufacturer has a engine with defects and that includes the infamous Ford diesels and the first generation of Chevy Traverse had engine lubrication problems that were dealt with for the 2018 and newer vehicles (and I owned a 2018). The problem is that few people distinguish between model years when spitting up comments about problems.

There are many websites, including www.carcomplaints.com, where people can check the history by model and model year and learn about which ones to avoid. I used this to decide against a Ram truck with their eTorque engine and the problem exists with their newest trucks as well and is more than a maintenance and repair issue as the trucks will stall out in the middle of an intersection or on the freeway.

A problem that could kill the driver and their passengers is at a higher level of concern for me. It is why I avoided driving my F-150 for 18 months while I waited for the wiper motor to be replaced. It is why I sold my Chevy Duramax as it would go into limp mode with the top speed limited to 55 mph which was is very dangerous when having to merge with semi tractor trailer rigs traveling at 70+ mph on the highway.
I think the problem isn't the vehicles.

The 5.0 is not a low RPM torque engine. Needs to be wound up for real stuff to happen.
If just putting around town, it behaves like a sleeping baby.
Kinda like most any NA engine.

Yep this thing doesn’t make power until 4k. My old 5.4 was na and had way more low end torque. Much more useable for actual truck work but to each their own.

Totally false, I came from a 2007 5.4/3.73 to this 4th gen 5.0L Coyote. Nowhere does the 5.4 make more torque or power, the 5.0 makes the same low end grunt and way more top end. I tow the same dual axle enclosed and boat with both, the 5.0/10R with 3.31 runs at a lower rpm and uses less gas. Way better than the 5.4/ 3.73. Same torque at 1,500 rpm, I think you are getting confused by the extremely low first ratio of the 10R80.

Fat blue dip/flat spot doesn’t lie and that steady drop after 4500 to redline is nuts but enjoy your v8 and glad you are happy big sexy

I’m literally shocked to hear that, what’s the rear end? I’ve never lost to any current v8 or the new tundras but maybe I have a unicorn somehow

I just deleted our tangent because I feel we are derailing the OP thread. My friend is a 3.5 EB Screw 5.5' with 3.55 and I am a 5.0 V8 Scab 6.5' with 3.31. His 3.5 EB wins a dig and my 5.0 wins a roll, like I said we have ran them many a times. Does it matter? No, and we both like our trucks.

3.31 is a better ratio than a 3.55 for a roll race, but it is worse for a dig race. The best ratio for a roll race is a 3.15, and best ratio for a dig is 3.73. I am totally satisfied with the 3.31, the first gear ratio on my previous 5.4/6R80 was 3.0:1, my 5.0 10R80 first gear ratio is 4.7:1, so the 5.0 is putting down more grunt to the wheel than my old 5.4/3.73 when accelerating from a stop (yes, at low revs too), and that is noticeable when towing my boat. My 5.0 will sit in 6th-8th gear range and turn 2,500 rpm at the high end where my 5.4 generally sat in 3rd or 4th gear and turned 3,000 rpm the entire ride. My new truck is much quieter and relaxed. Would a 3.73 be even better for my towing duties? Perhaps, but even with 3.31 this truck was still a big step up from my 5.4 Liter thanks to the 10R80

That is why if I were building an off-road truck I would start with a RCSB 5.0 4x4.

shortest wheelbase. Good power when properly geared. Difficult to overheat. Build it right and have fun out there! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Go to a different dealer. You obviously have some power leach happening. A good electrical tech could find it.
