I'm with you, I'm just hating how everything is so expensive....
Let me know if you decide and like it. I have always had 6.5ft beds as well, so I have a feeling the 5.5 is going to be an adjustment.

Personally, I don't like the Ford bed extender. The shape of it cuts off the corners too much and it doesn't seem to come close enough to the front edge of the tailgate. Of course, that is determined by how much room there is between the wheelwells and the tailgate when it's closed and the bed extender is flipped back inside the bed. I have used Amp Research in the past and have been very pleased:

I'm also used to a 6.5-ft bed, so I agree it will probably take some getting used to the 5.5-ft bed on the King Ranch I ordered.
