Well, I have always had issues with updates, I ran updated everything a few months back with FDRS. For me charging was the issue. My stereo has been giving me low battery warnings when I power down and my passenger handle doesn't unlock so I checked my SOC was at 36%. I drive everyday. So I fully charged the battery, and reset the BMS.

I started up the forscan guages and I watched the state of charge go from 69% to 70% and stop. The current was 10 and dropping while it was running and once it hit 70% is just drips in and you can only see any current pulses in the O-Scope screen.

I tried changing the state of charge to 90% and that didn;t change anything.

Am I missing something or is my battery toast?

I would just replace the battery at this point.

Thanks. I have a recall appointment coming up I'll see if I can get them to test the battery or something before I spend on a new one.

Interesting that the Forscan changes didn't work. I wonder why? Maybe try them again?

It's been pretty well documented in some other threads that the Forscan edit isn't as cut and dry as it might seem. Even set to whatever 95% actually means, the 12V battery charging strategy is still very conservative once the battery is considered to be at 75% SOC or better.

It will keep charging, of course, but not nearly as aggressive as a target of 95% would imply. At 80% SOC, it's basically trickle charging.

Thanks. I did read a bunch of your posts on it. That is actually what made me dig a bit deeper.

I manually entered an SOC of 90, I am fairly certain I did the previous edit in the clicky menu, the only edit I have done that way. When I looked at the as built it did not match. I entered it power cycled and started it up. It quickly charged to 69 slowed to 70 then....kept going at about 3A. So I went for a short 10 minute drive. It showed a 3A charge the entire time but never did get above 70. I think I will drop it on the 5A charger overnight and see if it goes above 70 by the morning. Previously it showed a full charge at 70. I will say that short drive I just took was the first time I had the auto start stop work in so long I forgot I had it and thought I killed the truck! :ROFLMAO:

When I get home today, I took my typical screen shot before shutting down. I do this so I can track/compare at next startup. (any changes that might take place while the truck sits overnight)

Battery Management had reduced charging voltage to 13V at 3 amps with the SOC only being 78%.

But honestly, I believe the charging strategy is actually pleased with the battery at 78%

Currently, (4 minutes ago) After sitting parked for 5.5 hours, the resting voltage is 12.53V

I've seen it much lower, so I'm not complaining. :)

well my truck is definately an oddball because the last couple times I fired up obdlink the battery LV SOC has been in the 90% range. This has been this way for the last couple months with no forscan mods.

Do you have longer than average drives recently? Beyond 40 miles or so?

I've seen 88% a few times after traveling on what I would call a road trip. :)

Okay just to add more mystery to the pot. Charged it overnight on a 5a noco charger.

It hit 78 and stopped charging. That was with me setting it back to the factory 80% SOC. I am going to change it to 90% and see if anything changes but I will also unplug the battery and charge it directly.

my big question..is HVB SOC at 47 after drive home. does it get back to normal on way to work or does it hover in the 40-60 % range.? i ask because i may put a thing in the maverick to see what they get on a normal day
thanks for the data and tools we need

The HV Battery SOC fluctuates continuously between ~42% & 63%.

On my 23 mile commute it can both bottom out and top off multiple times.

Unlike the LV SOC which is always on the increase and much slower going about it.
