BakFlip MX4 Resting on Window

I installed the MX4 today. When the cover is flipped all the way up, only the middle foam of rests against the back window. The two on the side are still 1/2” or so from the window. Is this expected?

The window is curved, the cover is flat, I'd say perfectly normal.

Yes I have the power sliding window. The cover rests about 1” above the top of the sliding window.

Have you had any water issues? I know they are not waterproof and more of a resistant but there have been a few comments on how the undercover appears to be a little shorter and more water then usually getting in.

No issues at all so far, and this comes from living in the rainy PNW.
