I have a 2013 F150 with the Sony 8 speaker sound system and woofer. This is a factory system from 2013. Does anybody know how it compares to the 8 speaker B and O sound system with the woofer. I actually liked the Sony system. I didn’t order the unleashed system.

I think it is weaker.. my grand Cherokee with 8" screen is way louder... I think my '17 f150 was about equal to my jeep...

My 2015 GMC Canyon with "Bose" and no subwoofer sounded better, and my 2005 Titan with "Rockford Fosgate" sounded waaayyyy better.

I have the B&O Unleashed. Blows the Sony system in my old 2013 away, as long as you are not playing compressed crap from Sirius!

I had the Sony in a 2013 KR. Worst factory stereo I’ve had in the last 10 years. Only vehicle where I spent significant $$$ to upgrade the sound. I hope the B&O Unleashed is better.

Ah that’s a bummer to hear. I have a 2005 Titan with the RF sound system and a new HU and it sounds decent. My F150 is arriving soon and I’m not thrilled about the sound being a “downgrade.”

2022 F-150 Platinum on order
I currently have a 2013 Platinum with the Sony system. Within a few months of owning the truck, I replaced everything except the Sync 2 system. I could not even hear the radio with the sunroof open. I later upgraded it to the Sync 3 system. I just pulled my system out of the 2013 this past weekend to get the truck ready to sell.

I'm still waiting on my 2022 Platinum with the B&O Unleashed system. I will be replacing the system very quickly after picking up the truck. I ONLY ordered the Unleashed system to get the 2 locations in the dash for my mids. I will be installing the system I pulled out of the 2013 with some changes. I have full active 3 way Audiofrog front stage (GB10s, GB25s and GB60s), (2) Arc Audio 1200.6 amps and Helix DSP Pro MK2 with director. I am looking to replace my subs so not sure exactly what I will use yet. Yes, I will lose the headrest and roof mounted speakers however I don't mind.

The biggest complaint I had with the B&O (in the 20 Ranger) was the how the bass would significantly drop out when turning it up past 1/2 way. I have seen and heard it mentioned that the same issue is present on the F150's with the B&O. I have heard the non-unleashed B&O in the F150 and sounds pretty decent. Something you can get pretty close to replicating with just upgrading the door speakers with quality components like @RyanStroeder suggested.

B&O Unleashed is great with a good source. It will bring out all the flaws in a poor source. Most who don't like it rely on Sirius or Wireless CarPlay. Try wired CarPlay lossless or direct from USB drive and it is great!
