Yes, a Max Tow issue indeed. Fortunately the national backorder for replacement axle seems to have subsided, so you won't have the truck sitting in the dealership parking lot for weeks/months hopefully.

As stated previously, there's a couple of threads that already exist and one is tracking build dates to see if there's a time period that most of the affected trucks fit within.

HDPP or max tow?

Note that HDPP (option code 627) requires purchase of the separate Max Tow Package (option code 53C) so all HDPP (distinct from 2.7 Payload Package) also have Max Tow. The axle with the sometimes problematic bolt is actually a part of the Max Tow Package.
