It’s fairly simple to pop it off - just feel around the edges and gently start to pull. You’ll notice one area or another that feels like it wants to give and then it should just pop off. No clips - just plastic flanges that secure back to the housing when finished.
I am having issues with my wipers also and I noticed yesterday that I have a shadow/black area covering about a 1/3 of the camera window. I was going to pull off the black cover and check this but the cover doesn't seem to want to come off. I feel like I'm going to break something. Any tips on taking the cover off?

My Rain Sensing option was not working either... Just shrugged it off for the past year as I didn't want to leave my truck at the dealership for 3-4 days to fix it. Love this forum... Popped off the plastic cover, and as sure as shinola one of the metal clips was not attached. Snapped it back into place and will test it out during the next rain shower.

To help pop off the plastic cover, use a large flat blade screwdriver, and gently / carefully place it under the lip of the cover, starting at the bottom, and pull away from the windshield. Take care to place the flat blade on the inside lip of the cover only, and don't place the blade against the windshield, there a very small gap between the windshield and the cover, pull away from windshield by inserting the blade in this gap.

I have to say, how this works is really confusing. If I look at the wiper switch, the "A" is on the same line as the "off", so I just assumed that meant for auto wipers, you just turn them off and the truck handles it.

It makes sense that it works how it does, but it's not clear. Even when using the "i" in the sync 4 settings, they could easily put a small blurb saying "Wipers must NOT bet set to off. See manual for more details"

I guess I'll have to try this out next time it rains.

Totally agree that the usage of this function is very vague and unclear, which I sure leads to many folks thinking their rain sensing wipers don't work... Compounded by the fact that it appears in many cases that they don't!

I also get a single wipe on startup. I am planning to tell the dealership along with other minor issues at the first oil change.

Same here, my thought is that this is by design.
You can turn that off in the settings. It's called a courtesy wipe...:)

what I miss from my cars with 2 stalks is the ability to do a quick wipe. I don't like the courtesy wipe because most the time my windshield is dry (and I don't like using wipers on a dry windshield).

In other cars you can normally push the stalk back or forward and it does a single wipe. In the past 2 F150s I've always had to turn them on and then off. I know you can push the button on the end, but I'm not looking to wash the windshield, just clear some water off

Maybe it will do it for me now that I know how autowipers should work.

Press the Wash button VERY quickly. You will get a wipe and no water spray.

Tested today in the rain... After not working for the past 1 year+, snapping in the camera worked, and I now have Rain Sensing wipers! Pretty nice feature in that the wipe motion is variable depending on the amount and intensity of the rain.

I thought courtesy wipe was after using the washer?

@ Frank...I do a quick push of the end button for a single wipe when needed.

I just got my auto wipers fixed at the dealer (It was the bracket/sensor but I was afraid I would break the cover. I waited on a recall then had it fixed). Pretty neat having the speed change with the rain. I turn them off when I park though due to the wipe at start up. My door is usually still open and it gets wet lol.

A single windshield wipe upon start up with a dry windshield isn't expected behavior of auto wipers. I wonder if your trucks are getting logic to the wiper circuit before Sync 4 boots up completely, which makes the wipers do a single swipe because they're working in a "timed delay" setting until Sync 4 boots up.

Like others have mentioned, the courtesy wipe is the extra wipe at the end of cleaning your windshield.

As far as a single wipe while in auto mode, I normally just cycle between the rain sensitivity settings on the stalk. Like, I'll drop it down a level then immediately go back.

UPDATE: While outside of the truck and standing at the hood looking at the windshield and the cameras, I noticed that the rain sensing wiper sensor had a weird shadow. On a hunch, I took off the plastic camera cover by the mirror (inside the cab) and it was immediately clear what my issue was - the rain sensor has 2 clasps that snap it into place when installed, but only 1 clasp was secure and the other was not, leaving the camera hanging incorrectly and not looking out the window. I snapped the other clasp and now it works as desired. Solved!
I just had the same issue on my 2020 F150. I popped off the plastic cover and the sensor was hanging out on the right side. Clipped it back in and it started working again. Easy with a flat head screw driver to pop the plastic case off.
