Automatic Shift into Park

Is this new for 2021? I forgot to put my truck into Park and shut it off. It automatically moved the shifter into Park! ? Almost scared me a first when it automatically shifted, but I think it's pretty awesome!

I traded in my 6 speed Mustang for my 2021 PowerBoost and found this feature almost instantly. Really cool and useful feature as I needed to build that habit of placing it in park. Also makes sense with the PB being silent.

No. It’s even on the base XLs.

Huh? That one I didn't know about. Have to check that out. Don't know that I like that when I think about it.... it's a rare thing, but I have needed to do it.

No, it's Not just a PB feature. I was just pointing out how it's a great feature especially for the PB.

Neat! I knew that the console shifter did that but had no idea the column shifter also did.

Huh? That one I didn't know about. Have to check that out. Don't know that I like that when I think about it.... it's a rare thing, but I have needed to do it.

I beleive it does it only if you don't have your seat belt fastened.

I use it all the time now. Whenever I want to park, I just press the ignition button and the parking brake. One less step.

Coming from stick shifts for the eon, I have been in the habit of shutting the truck down before I actually stopped rolling.
I have an XLT and the first time I did that, was pretty interesting.
it is weird watching the shifter move up on its own. Pretty sure the parking brake sets as well.
