That would be awesome! Not sure why they didn't do it in the first place. Lets have a giant screen but only let Apple CarPlay use 75%!?! Hopefully they make it available to our peasant version of the F150.

What they will do is fix it for the next MY....it will still be called "Sync 4", but they won't push fixes/changes to the older cars.

(this same thing happened last gen with AA and BT Audio during calls and it not working. They fixed it in the 2018+, but not in the 2015-2017 MYs).

Please please please let this come our way soon. Since I bought the truck that's the only thing I've been wanting and haven't been able to make happen.

Ford F-150 Apple Carplay / Android Auto expand display aVOSkIC

I have hope that if it's on the 12" Lightnings, it'll be on the ICE trucks soon. AFAIK those trucks are on the same SYNC4, and not SYNC4a.

Not sure why they didn't do it in the first place.
UX design isn't always as straightforward as it seems, especially when you have a display that changes size and shape. Android Auto didn't even support odd sizes until last year, IIRC. Work needed to be done on Apple/Android side and be workable before Automakers could update.

BMW has done that, charged just for the luxury of using Carplay so I wouldn't put it past Ford
Yeah but they backed off of that quickly due to customer sentiment.

I like it how it is. I can look at the CarPlay map on the big portion, then still see what’s playing on Spotify to the right.
Or watch my bed camera when I’m hauling something.

And it appears you'd be able to keep it that way, just don't click on the expand button. As for the rest of us.....FILL UP MY SCREEN

Saying some companies charge for remote start via the app and Ford has never done that, I wouldn't expect Ford to jump on that bandwagon quite yet. Nothing they've done supports the idea they would.
