I don't think it would be easy to remove them unless you decide to just cut them off. I was able to get an extra 1/4" of clearance just by loosening the bolts, pushing the bars forward and retightening.
Thank you for this, know what my next step is, Should be all I need!

I just removed my crash bars last night. I went through about 2 grinder cutoff wheels, a dozen sawzall blades, and a couple hours with of work. The fronts you have to just cut off because there isn’t enough room to back out the bolts. In the rear you can cut the crash bars and once they are shorter you can back out the bolts and slide the rest of the crash bar out.

If you cut the front bolts would the bars come out? I think 2021 changed them but I recall people removing them or flipping them around, then installing new slightly shorter bolts bottom up on gen13..but I seem to recall the bumper having to come off.

I'm actually surprised people have to do anything unless they have extreme tire size or offset...the stock tires on factory 20" wheels are basically a 33x11 size.

I appreciated everyone’s feedback except Sundancer.

I was curious because I’ve seen previous posts that to fit a 20x9 +1 with a 295/60 on a level, front crash had to be removed.
Seems like a lot of Wild Willies trucks he builds have that exact set up. And in all his videos it looks like the front crash bars are intact.
How does he make it work?
I don’t think a dealer would be STUPID to remove them either
A 295/60/20 is 1/2 inch per side wider and 1/2 inch per side larger height. Unless you are pushing them outboard as well (maybe the +1 is an offset I don't understand?), I wouldn't expect them to even touch the crash bars on a stock or leveled suspension.

2" readyLift with 295/60/20 rubs just barely and mostly in reverse.

You can not rmove the bolt completely because it will not have enough room to back all the way out and the bolt on the bottom Is welded to the remaining part of the cash bar. Only way to remove is the the bumper off. And my truck has 22x10 -18 wheels with 35x12.50 tires on a 3.5” level

What offset? I know that setup works on stock, lots of examples on this forum i mean a 295/60/20 is a 34” setup. That shouldn’t rub at all on a 2” level. I’m on 285/65/20, which is 34.5”, and I don’t rub at all.

Unbelievable…..it’s the OP’s truck and decision to do what he wants. While I don’t think removing the crash bars is the thing to do, it’s not your are my decision.
I personally think that if you have nothing constructive to say don’t say anything. He didn’t ask what you think.
Can’t fix rude either.
This is one of the few respectable forums around……it would be nice to keep it that way.
Well Said my friend. Merry Christmas 🎄

This attitude of only caring about oneself is part of the reason we have so many regulations around safety and emissions to begin with. Selling the vehicle or getting into an accident with a modified or removed safety apparatus can make for a very uncomfortable and expensive conversation with your insurance company. Posting photos of it is a great way to draw unwanted attention on this board as anyone who’s been part of a diesel pickup community can attest to.
