Anyone planning on adding a Catch Can on their Ecoboost or Powerboost engine?

I don't see how port fuel injection prevents blow-by oil build-up in your intercooler.

I plan to look inside the intercooler after a few months of driving. If there's oil, then I will install a catch can.

I drove my 2021 about 1000 miles before putting a JLT passenger side catch can on. Changed the oil and checked the catch can yesterday, at just under 3000 miles. The catch can had about 1/8 cup of oil in it.

Anybody know if there's such a thing as a driver's side can, or why its not needed?

Catch can is news to me. 215k miles on my 2015 3.5 Ecoboost so far. Still running strong & averaging about 20mpg.

Because the PCV return is usually on the passenger side.

As of 2018 Ford updated the 2.7 to include both port and direct injection. You do not need a catch can for anything newer than 2018.
Unless you want to keep all that crap out of your intake, turbo, intercooler, etc. The port injectors may help at the valve side but does nothing for everything ahead of it. If you don;t think so just pull off the tubes on your intercooler and let me know what that mess looks like.....:)

If the catch can is so essential and prevents so much damage why wouldn't Ford add it into their engine design?

The Ecoboost is a complex engine and the PVC system is well designed from the factory.
A well designed and properly installed catch can will perhaps provide some small benefit that only a very few would claim they can perceive. But a poorly designed and improperly installed catch can introduces risks that could bring far more harm than benefit.
Especially in cold winter freezing temperatures.

Does the 3-5 only have direct injection or does it have port as well like the 5-0

I’d really like to take a look inside my motor at 50 or 60K miles just to see if there’s any varnish or buildup in there
I’ll probably do the same. Actually I may do it earlier since I don’t drive a whole lot.

I was looking at those bore cameras thinking if I just pulled off a few hose clamps that I could see something interesting
