I’m hoping to add an aftermarket sub to my truck. Has anyone added a sub to their truck? I’m confused to what is compatible with the new standard B&O system.(8 speakers)

I was going to bite the bullet and talk to Car Toys or similar and see what they could do for me.

I think the base B&O system is ok, but it definitely feels less punchy and full sounding when compared to my Jeeps' Harmon Kardon system.

It's possible a good sub and/or amp could greatly help the system.

Certain songs sound good, but then others have less punch. I'm looking to add something so all songs have a nice punch to them.

I did this in my 2013, and will likely do the same in this one to add a shallow sub behind the seat.

I wonder if there are any adjustments on the amps ie gain, boost, LP HP frequency cuttoffs so we can tune to our liking. Anyone look into this?

Hey guys. Sorry for the lapse in post. I have added a 6 channel loc to the unleashed system. I have already added subs and amp. I will be adding front door speakers and amp soon..

The reason I am only changing front doors is because the 6x9’s in the front doors are currently on a crossover and are mid bass only. They lack any mid range or high frequency. This causes the system to sound like all the output is coming from the center dash speaker.

A note for the subwoofers: the stock amplifier cuts the signal to the stock subwoofer therefore damping the output from your aftermarket amp. “It gets very quiet when you turn the volume up”.

I am working on figuring out how to get a constant signal for the subs. So that they dont fade out. I will post another update soon.

Any questions... ask away. I have been installing stereos and car system for 20 years.

it seems as though the b&o processor detects distortion and will cut signal to whatever channel is experiencing clipping. I disconnected the factory subwoofer and the signal remained a little more stable. it still detects clipping through the after market sub and will cut signal as needed, however it listens to the aftermarket subs instead of the factory sub therefore not cutting the signal when the factory sub is maxed out...

What I had to do in my 2012 sony system is add in a Lc2i line converter. That stopped the sub from dropping off when turned up like the factory sub does. I'd think that would be the same solution in the B&O 2021. I'm very dissappointed in the B&O sub. I'll be installing my 10s and amp very soon.

Did you happen to figure out the issue with the stock amp? I am having the same issue with the subs fading out when turned up

What are the dimensions of your box? Did you make the box yourself or buy online/locally? I would appreciate if you posted a link where you got the box if you bought it online. Ty!

This part of forscan allows you to change the output from the b&o dsp. You can make the sub output a signal out instea of a speaker out. The difference is the voltage remains constant and doesnt roll off when distortion is detected.
