No, the TPMS trailer wiring kits come with 4 sensors in the kit (LC3Z1A189A or B, for example). I think the system is capable of up to triple axle trailers, but you'd have to buy 2 more sensors in that case.

I did not get an activation tool with the kit though. I was planning to bring them to a shop to have them installed and I figured they could activate.
The activation tool was not necessary for my TPMS install. The activation was done through the dash on the TPMS screen by letting some air out of each tire one at a time as instructed. The horn honks when it recognizes which tire has lost air.

Guys, I'm ordering a new RV trailer and the manufacturer is saying that it includes a backup camera. I have to imagine it uses some wireless protocol.

Will this system link into the OEM screen through BT or some other manner, or should I have them just remove their system (to save the money) and add my own? I don't want to add a second screen to the dash of my truck.
This thread on 'the other F150 forum' may be of interest:

Can you give me a part number for the camera? The perspective seen from yours is much better than the one I installed. I got mine on ebay, new in a box. It was a camera/TPMS kit that included a connector for the yaw sensor, which I already had (but never use). The perspective of my is way off. It's like a concave mirror, where everything seems farther away than it really is, the opposite of the convex mirror effect. If I car is a few car lengths behind me, I can't even tell what kind of car it is.

I don't think your truck being '24 and mine being '21 explains the difference. I think the difference is in the camera itself, but I could be wrong.

A $15 multi-brand tool from Amazon is helpful. It senses and triggers both 315 and 433 MHz sensors. You don't have to bleed air from your trailer tires, which requires that you reinflate them.

The package I bought is part number LC3Z-1A189-D. This version came with the TPMS but not the Yaw sensor.

I don't think yours is different. I have the same depth of field issue when towing. I can only see the cars behind me when they are fairly close. But I mainly use the camera to know when I have cleared another vehicle when changing lanes. It works well for that. And it works well for backing into a spot which is where you really want the wide angle.

OK, Thanks. The optics on mine are the same. It's pretty disappointing and could be so much better at minimal cost or effort on Ford's part. Just buy a different optical sensor and lens. The do well combining the images from the 360 cameras to create composite images. Why can't they just supply a better camera?

An update on the effort to DIY the harness. Success!

I was able to re-pin the bumper side of the C423 harness and add a pigtail with a new 12-pin C439 Molex connector. I also included the wires for yaw sensor (though not needed) and TPMS (which I am using) along with the camera wires. Here is the process and parts used.

I created a pigtail with a Molex connector bought on Digikey (0334721201) and pins (0330123002) plus some multi-colored wires bought on Amazon. I created a spreadsheet to match the colors of the wire I bought to the colors in the circuit diagram above.

The pigtail only needs to be 2-3 feet long. Note that the black wire is 18 gauge while the others are 20 gauge. This is the ground wire and it also needs to be a bit longer.

The C423 pins looked like this before re-pinning. The slots with no pins have a plastic dummy pin to allow sealing at the silicone gasket on the backside. These need to be removed.

20240711_165956 (Large).jpg

The other end of the pigtail wires get 1.5 mm male pins. I originally purchased a part number from Digikey that I found in a different forum. This ended up being too small and I could not figure out the correct part number from the 3,289 different connectors on Digikey. I ended up buying a multi-pack of automotive connectors on Amazon and one of them was the right fit. I believe it was 611-1.5B.

The connector pin (one of the existing ones in the connector) looks like this which is slightly longer than what I installed. If someone knows the correct TE AMP part number, please add it and I will update this post.

The pigtail was attached to the connector like this.

When done the pins now look like this.

I attached the ground wire to the chassis ground location that the parking harness was already connected to (shown here before I added my wire).

At the end of several days of fussing and waiting for parts, the DIY worked, so I can confirm that the wires on the truck side of the C423 connector are correct and active. Overall, this DIY is not a project for the faint of heart. I give it about an 8/10 in difficulty and it took me probably 10 hours in total, much of which was spent lying on my back under the truck. You also need de-pinning and crimping tools and know-how to get the connectors apart.

Here is the view out the back of my enclosed car trailer. The TPMS module is also recognized by the truck.

Getting the replacement parking sensor harness which already has the 12-pin C439 is definitely the preferred way to go. The one I think is correct (ML3Z13A576PN) was out of stock when I needed it and I can't confirm this is the right one either. If someone has purchased this, please post your results.

Going out on a limb (and about to order myself) but If both sides are 1.5mm I think that the part numbers are:

Male: EU2Z-14421-CA
Female: DU2Z-14474-DA

I'm getting these from this catalog where it lists them as the silver 1.5 options:
https://parts.ford.com/content/dam/...egory/desktop/2020-WPT200-Wiring_Pigtails.pdf

Page 34 has part which looks to me like C439: WPT-1125 (Silver) AU2Z-14S411-AMA
Page 46 has a couple different options that could be C423.

I'm not sure how to look at the "Online Wiring Manual on the Ford PTS (Professional Technician Society) website" referenced in page 5 to verify - but relatively inexpensive experiment to see if these fit…

Two sets of each ordered to fully populate C439 and lead from C423 (I have all the correct cables going into C423 from front of truck) will see if they help me build a custom patch cable - after 3 trips to dealers, and numerous trials - and failures - online to get the full harness, time to just make a patch cable instead.

So I have a MY23 PB, 360 Camera, TTP, & SSH. After going through all the pages in this post and multiple visits to the rear bumper, I cannot find the elusive 12-pin plug. I have the 7/4 configuration.

Is it possible its hidden somewhere or I have a different wiring harness?

I'd really like to have built in TPMS vs external

Anything is possible.

You said you went through the entire thread, but I'm reposting these pics for you.

I suggest you drop your spare tire for total access, work 'forward' from the 7/4 pin connector and follow every branch of the harness looking for C439. Don't be mislead by the 'stow cap' fastened to the chassis where C439 may be plugged-in (the 'stow cap' has no wires coming out of it).

C439 should be on the first harness branch forward of the 7/4 pin connector, but who knows what's on your 2023 PB (?).

You'll eventually end-up at C423 on top of the beam above the spare. Along the way you'll either find C439 or you won't.

Good Luck.

Thanks.

It figures I wait to research this now that temps are in the 30's until April. We pick up our ne TT in May and I'd like to see if it's possible to install the TPMS. TT will come with the TST System which my previous TT had so I'm OK but like you I'd like having less dash blockage

After 32 pages I vaguely remember these photos.

Finally picked up my harness, I ordrered it in the Summer and forgot to pick it up, I will wait for warmer weather to install it.

Let's say you decide to buy the camera only kit for now, Im guessing you can buy the trailer TPMS add-on separately, something like this? or is there something else you would need?

https://parts.southlakeford.com/p/Ford__Super-Duty/Trailer-TPMS-Monitoring-Kit/133916968/PC3Z1A189J.html
That would be a very expensive approach to buying the kit(s). I paid less than $400 for a new-in-sealed-box TPMS/camera kit that came with someone's truck. Be patient. Good options come and go there regularly.

Edit: I intended to refer you to ebay, where I bought mine. You needn't buy used. New-in-box items appear regularly.

Also, if your truck came with a yaw sensor and you want to use it, make sure the camera kit you buy has the correct port that allows you to connect it.

Verify that the trailer harness provided with the cam-only kit includes the long 'branch' for the TPMS receiver module (AFAIK it should / will) and yes, the linked kit as pictured has all you need (TPMS receiver module + in-wheel sensors).

Been looking here an there, not much options, but I have some time till next camping season.

I looked around for aftermarket but nothing available still, but some rumors of a wireless cam that plugs into the 12 pin connector, mentioned at end of this thread with some pics
