Sorry.. considering Russia is considered the hacker capital of the world, I'd prefer not to deal with a company that comes from there... I was never even comfortable installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus at work even though it did the best at detecting besides another brand who would nver return our calls..

I haven't found any. I will say with Russia making the software and China making the cable you would be hard pressed to find a unhackery feeling program.

Thanks for the info... least Ford lets you modify the ECM, unlike other manufacturers you gotta install aftermarket ECM's to bypass the encryption..

I run forscan in a sandboxed VM, no issues with it like that.

Russians hacked me and got my VIN #. Years of court battles trying to get my life back, and found out that the DMV sold them the info “legally”.

Sorry to hear that... Being from South Carolina did your sister/wife stay with you thru the rough years?

She left me for her brother-in-law.

Seriously though, I use an old laptop for forscan. Not that I’m really worried too much about security, but it’s smaller (12” screen) and easy to use. I don’t use it for anything else, so there isn’t any data on it. Separate it from the network and it’s a dead end.

i play around with mine a good bit, but if you just wanted a few things done, I’m sure someone close to you would do it. I think I’ve done my whole neighborhood, and half the ones at work.

I wasn’t too worrrief about my laptop, I’d use a VM on my Mac to do it. More worried about someone implanting code on to the ECM to do crazy stuff with over cell connection…. Just some Goose Creek paranoia it’s all ;)
