Mine hasn’t been completely problem free, but I would definitely buy it again. It’s a great truck and my couple issues have been covered under warranty and have not happened again. It drives great, I can power a house, and even with some off road mods I can still get 20mpg.

2021 KR PB 34,000 miles. Except for a couple recalls, truck has been trouble free. Still have original 3 year old 12V battery.

This thread may explode soon with more happy customers… 😊

“Sales of Ford's hybrid vehicles increased 36.7% year-to-date through February, with sales in February up 31.5% compared to a year ago with 12,045 vehicles sold.

"Hybrid vehicles continue to be a growth segment for Ford and sales have grown at a faster rate than the overall U.S. industry for much of the last year," Ford said of the news.”

I have owned several 3.5L ecoboost trucks and got the powerboost and I love it. I am getting 22-26 MPGs at 65-70 MPH... I had a few issues but none that I can relate specifically to the powerboost. Waste gates stuck closed which led to them replacing turbo assembly due to parts availability. There are few communications issues throughout the whole system but not directly related to powerboost.

The ability to have 7.2KW generator is very handy and an awesome feature to have. I typically will have 15-22% of total miles for tank, driven in electric only. It is very nice to be able to sit in the truck with AC or Heat running on high without the truck running.

I drove in quite a bit of snow, ice last year as well as this year and the added weight of the powerboost actually helps quite a bit with traction and keeping the rear-end from fishtailing on ice or compacted snow. I was able to keep it in 2H a lot more than my previous 2020, 2017 or 2012 but in 2022 they went away from the IWE/eIWE and so when you are in 4A I do not see a huge change in mpgs ... maybe 1-2 MPG lower but much more reasonable than previous trucks.

I ordered a 2024 King Ranch PowerBoost last October. Got my Vin#, and build status has been "In Production" since 2/15. So now it is probably parked in a field with thousands of others waiting for Ford to figure out what has to happen to make their trucks salable. I have been reading multiple threads about all the problems PowerBoost owners are experiencing, and I am starting to wonder if I should go through with my purchase when/if my truck is finally available. So my question is, are there any PowerBoost owners who have NOT experienced any problems, and are completely satisfied with their truck? From what I've read, there are many battery issues, truck totally shutting down while driving, jerking when switching from electric to ICE, some small AGM battery under the rear seat dying, multiple problems after over the air updates, windows going back down when using auto up, no connection to Ford Pass app, low battery shutdown warnings, broken axle bolts, and on, and on, and on....... Did Ford move all their talented engineers over to work on EVs and there are none left to keep their #1 profitable vehicle out of the repair shop? Still have not read of a single person who has taken delivery of a 2024 F150 after being in production for almost 2 1/2 months, and when driving around SE Michigan, I see lot, after lot, after lot, of parked F150's. Ford has said they have started deliveries of the '24s, but still don't see any on dealer lots. Farley has said they are benchmarking Toyota for quality, so maybe I should buy a Toyota instead of a Ford? Are 2024's not being delivered because of quality/parts issues, or is Ford holding back deliveries to try and push excess inventory of 2023 models off dealer lots?
Nothing but problems with my 22 KR PB, the drivetrain and the rest of the vehicle. I'm not alone apparently based on the usual industry surveys.

Consumer Reports rates the Power Boost as the least reliable vehicle on the market. That doesn't surprise me at all.

CR: 10 least reliable vehicles

The most recent 2024 JDPower Dependability survey would seem to indicate the F-150 is worst in class, and the PB is likely the worst of the F-150s.

CEO Jim Farley recently said he regrets not addressing quality problems sooner. Ya think?

Buyer beware.

Last I checked, this was a thread about good experiences with the powerboost...

Sucks that you have had problems but take that to another thread. That is probably why the OP created this thread...

'21 Job 1 Powerboost, no issues, it's a very nice truck. But it has a lot of tech so to avoid future issues I bought a 10 year 100,000 mile Ford Premium Care warranty. I sleep well at night. ;)

'23 PB here. Came out of a' 21 2.7L. Absolutely no issues in my first 7000 miles. Love this thing. Would drive it more if I didn't plan on keeping it for so long...

I have one on order so this reply is just my opinion, not from experience with the PowerBoost. I am a former dealer and currently own an EV. I think it is important to be willing to go through a learning curve and have reasonable expectations. You are buying a truck loaded with technology. I guess I view it as moving from a wall mounted telephone to an iPhone. There will be a lot of strange and unexpected occurrences,…….but that does not mean there is anything wrong with the product, just my experience and expectations. The hard part issues (transmission, engine, axle) will be the same across the product line, so buying the ICE version is not going to address those concerns. I share many of your concerns, but still ordered one. Same vacillation as when I bought my first iPhone.

1 issue, dealer had to replace the motorized shifter because it was stuck in park. 7.2KW in the bed and the ability to have the truck keep climate control on while I'm in and out all day escaping the 105F Texas heat, would never give it up.

Agreed! I ordered my PB and traded in a truck with no issues knowing I may have a bit of a time with this one. So far so good though! I love it

22 PB Lariat with BC and 7.2k inverter.. 32,000 miles with one issue where a connector got a loose connection..

I recently got to drive a 22 Tundra for a week and badly missed my PB! Low end torque, effortless acceleration that is smooth and quiet, BC, which I use everyday for at least 20 miles, ability to sit in my truck with AC running without the engine running..

I can keep going on the positives.. Ram, Chevy and Tundra may have some things better than the PB, but when you look at all the features that the PBs have, there is not another truck that is remotely close!

I love my truck!

Am I on the right forum?

I didn't know that the overwhelming shy majority of Powerboost owners would all meet up at the same place and time.

I always knew it. 🤣🤣🤣

So OP. Feel better?
You ordered, and are now waiting on an amazing vehicle. Statistically the odds are in your favor that you won't get a lemon.

I'll be the Negative Nancy here. :) 23 PB, had several problems with it. SSN problem, bad battery, other weird gremlins that have really soured me on it. Would not buy again. I still get the low battery warning all the time so my approach lights dont work, interior lights dont come on when I get in, etc. I thought it was going to be much more of a 'hybrid' vehicle, but because of my commutes being so small I'm not getting the gains that I thought I would. My average mileage is about the same as I got with my 2.7 so the added complexity isn't worth it to me. I've had the truck for 11 months, 6 trips to the dealer for service. Trading out for a '24 5.0. To each their own.
