Android Auto Coolwalk not working with wireless connection

I'm just so happy I updated my truck and waited for this! Another failure! Android auto wireless connection is now not working, what the hell !

Hmmm I can't imagine that an updated APIM would not be backwards compatible with a non-Coolwalk enabled Android device (assuming the server-side switch to Coolwalk hasn't been done for your device yet)... Power cycle truck and phone and try again? Have you been part of the AA beta program? Maybe AA Coolwalk is being rolled out in stages, but I still doubt that means incompatible with latest Sync version...

Just went out and restarted the truck. After shutdown of 40 minutes. Same thing its asking for a wired connection

I wasn't a beta tester.
Just checked play store and no AA update is available, my current version of AA is 8.5.62594
I have a Samsung s10+
Android version 10
Sync version 22228 r539

I spent some time trying to debug the same message. It turned out I just needed to enable "Wireless Android Auto" in the Android Auto settings on my phone.

Do you have a Pixel and did you install the January patch by chance ? If so, that could be your issue.

I'm still on the November patch and have very random AA issues, maybe once every two months it doesn't handshake with the truck and have to reboot the truck to correct the issue.

I have a Samsung phone, but I was able to resolve the issue by removing and reinstalling Android Auto on my phone. So far so good after 3 restarts this morning it working wirelessly every time. And full screen AA is now available.

That pic is without CoolWalk, so yes. It is independent of Power-up 3.5.3.

What you see in the picture is 3.5.3 updated using FDRS. Sync version number 22228, in the photo you'll see that android auto does expand to full screen. Note the side card is not a Sync side card but it is fox sports streaming through android. Google has not made cool walk fully available yet. We'll need to have the AA app update and some sort of switch that Google does on its servers first.
